Emily's POV

We walked down the road slowly laughing at jokes I was telling while Pony and Tori watched the sunset.

"Heres comes trouble"I sighed.

"Those damn socs will never leave us alone,will they?"Ponyboy said.

"Ya I guess not.Stay cool."Dally said with a sigh.

"Dally,you got a blade?"Tori asked.

"Ya i might use it on'em."my boyfriend said.

He is so brave.You know,I would do that but I might get squashed.I'm so small and all the socs-and greasers-are bigger then me.There's not much I can do to defend people,or even myself.

As the socs walked up Dally yelled at them.He swore his heart out telling them to get away.The 's' word to the 'b' word and all that crap.

He flicked his blade open.No one was outnumbered.There were 4 greasers as well as 4 socs.This could be ugly.I stepped back.

"DONT!"I yelled at the top of my lungs.

"Dont do it!Go away you socs!Go away!Just leave us alone!Your such jerks!"I yelled through sobs.

The soc Bob grabbed me and held a broken beer bottle to my neck.He choked me at the same time.I was gonna die.I was done,I couldn't breath at all.

I could not breath.

I was so close to death,until I pretended to faint and Bob then let go.Dally cut Bobs arm and Bob ran off.

"EMILY!EM!SPEAK!!SPEAK!!"Dally yelled.

I wanted to talk but nothing would come out.Nothing,not even a whisper.

He pulled my head up and kissed me.But this wasn't a fairytale,it was Tulsa.Where people treated other people as if they were better because they had money.

Dally picked me up as I realized Ponyboy was holding Tori as she sobbed in his shoulder.

I managed to say something finally.

"Im.....i-im not....dea-dead"

"Dammit Em!"Tori yelled.

Dally just cried as he held me in his arms.He walked me to his house and that night I slept there.Still,in his arms,with his comfort,I fell asleep the way I fell in love with him.Slowly,then all at once.
