Johnny's POV

Those 16 days went by really fast or maybe normal speed.I had spent 4 days in a church with about absolutely nothing to do.The whole gang and their girls came to the court to support me and Ponyboy.I was so nervous and fidgeting.My palms were sweaty and I felt like I might throw up.

“Aye man,your gonna be fine.Cherry and Pony are gonna protest and there gonna win.Ok?"Soda said reassuring my thoughts.

“Ya man I guess so."I replied.

“Can I have Ponyboy Curtis to the stand?"the judge yelled.

“Ah,Ponyboy,you've grown!Have a seat please.Tell me the side of your story."she spoke like it was a rainbow eating contest.

“Well,Johnny and I were walking to the park.We climbed the ladder thing they have and that was when the socs pulled up.Johnny told them they were out of there territory.We have our own side of the town, socs and greasers.Then,he said what greasers are and I know it was wrong,but I told them what a soc was and spit.They started chasing us after that.2 socs got Johnnycake and 4 grabbed a hold of me.They were kicking and maybe even punching at johnny while the other 4 drowned me in a fountain nearby.I was gonna die They kept dunking me under the water for about 7 seconds each.Johnny came over and saved me.Its not his fault though!They were gonna kill me and then probably kill him too!Bob asked for it!"he yelled and walked off sitting back down next to me.

“Well,Johnny Cade?Please come forward."she said.

“I have nothing to say Ms.He told the truth,everything I wouldn't change a single word he said."I told the judge with a serious tone.

“Ok,Randy?Please come forward."

Randy started telling his story and he then said Ponyboy spit on him.He started lying after that.

“That is not true!"Ponyboy shot up and yelled.“hes lying!Don't believe him!I would never hit Cherry!"

Pony lost it.Cherry never got hit by Pony and now Cherry couldn't protect Ponyboy because she would be a social outcast.

“Ok Randy your done.Thank you.Cherry!Sherry Valance?Ooh I love your hair!"she yelled through the court room,voice echoing.

“I prefer Cherry and thank you very much.I would like to begin at the beginning of the night.My boyfriend Bob,was drunk.My friend Marcia,and I didn't want to be with them when they got drunk so we went to see the movie we were gonna watch anyways.Then we happened to bump into these young boys Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade.I need to get to the point now.Bob asked for it.His parents never told him no.That's all he wanted to hear was a no for once.His parents thought it was their fault the first time Bob got drunk.Bob asked them to start a fight.Ponyboy never hit me,he wouldn't.He is too sweet and I don't know what Randy is talking about.These boys are innocent and if you don't believe me then your crazy."Cherry snapped and walked off.

“Ive made my decision.You guys are rude and disrespectful but do sound like your telling the truth.Unfortunately manslaughter is manslaughter so Johnny Cade you will be in jail for 4-5 months.Ponyboy Curtis you are free to go now."

“No,no no no,NO!He can't go to jail!I hate you people!"pony yelled.

“Order in the court!Get this boy out of here!"

“Bastards!"Dally yelled and punched the cop behind him.

*10 minutes later*

Ponyboy's POV

“Stop!Stop!You can't do this!"I yelled.

“Its alright buddy.They will be out soon.Dally will be in for a year and Johnny will be out in 5 months.Its gonna be alright"Darry said pulling me into a hug.

“No,no hes my best friend.I hate Randy!"I yelled crying.

“Come on were going home."he said pulling me towards the door and walked out to the car.

I immediately went to bed after court.
