Chapter 13

The next day:

Today, Ashley started her new job on impractical jokers. She didn't have a car, so I offered to give her lift. And it would give me an excuse to see Sal again. Last night, it dawned on me, he probably thought Nick was a boyfriend or something, and I definitely wanted to sort that out. She came over around 9am.

We got into the car and played the radio. Britney came on, womanizer. Ashley loved Britney so she was belting it out. I was laughing and singing along too.

Once we got there, I followed her up. I saw Joe, and a joe kinda knew me.
"Hey Joe, this is Ashley, the new editor" I said. Joe shown Ashley around. I looked around for Sal and I saw him. He saw me and walked away. However I followed.
"Can I talk to you, in private' I asked. He huffed then led me to the makeup room. We didn't know Q was in there.
"Look, yesterday. Nick" I began. Sal rolled his eyes. "He's my brother" I explained.  Sal felt really stupid now but still was angry at me.
"So?! Like I care!" He shouted.
"No need to be rude!" I shouted.
"Well no offence Emily, the world doesn't evolve around you!" Sal  shouted back, as he walked off. As soon as he left, I wiped away the tears from my eyes. I heard a chair knock over, and I looked up. I saw Q. He looked up at me and walked straight over to me with his arms open. He have me a warm hug.
"It's okay, it's okay" he kept telling me. I gripped my arms around him, tightly.
"You okay??" Q asked me. I pulled away from the hug and shook my head. "Well Sal's a fool for letting you go" Q said, attempting to make me feel better.
"It's Emily right?" Q asked me. I nodded as I couldn't bare to string out any words.
"How about joining me and the guys at a party tonight?" Q offered me.
"Will Sal be there?" I asked. Q nodded. "Then no thanks" I declined.
"Well let me take you out for a coffee sometime?!" Q asked.
"Why are you being so nice?" I asked.
"I feel bad for you. Trust me, I know more than anyone what heartbreak feels like!" Q told me.
"Then okay" I said with a smile.
