After my cold began to vanish, Sal invited me over to his place. I got dressed into my leggings and one of his hoodies I had lent. I loved to wear his hoodies as they always reminded me of Sal. When I got over to Sal's place, there was a note on the door.
'To my gorgeous girl, Emily, I love you more than anything in the world xx'
I ripped the note from the single piece of cello tape it was hanging from and placed it deep into my pocket. I opened the door to see the most beautiful sight. On the floor laid red rose petals leading its way into the kitchen, supported by candles on the outskirts of the room. I smiled to myself as I followed the trail of the rose petals and candles. It led me to Sal stood by a table, with a candle in the middle. I walked closer to the smiling Sal.
"What's all this?" I asked. He grabbed both of my hands.
"I just wanted to show you how much I loved you" he replied.
"It's amazing" I said, looking around.
"I'm glad. It took ages to light all these candles" Sal joked. I laughed too as I sat down. We ate the meal and enjoyed the conversation.
After we finished, Sal played a song on the speakers. The song playing was a slow song, and Sal always said it was our song because it was the same song that played in the restaurant on our first date. Sal stood in the middle of the room and began to dance. It made me laugh. He walked over to me and held out his hand, intending on me to join him. I grabbed hold of his hand as he led me to the middle of the room. He placed his hands on my hips as I rested my head on his chest, as we slowly danced.
"What do you love?" I asked him, with a smile.
"One day you'll find out" he teased. He slowly leaned closely to my ear. "It's always been you" he revealed. I smiled as we danced the rest of the night away. He was My Guy...
