"Theodore Alder sit up straight!" I thought I was! I mean my back is as straight as it could be!"Alder elbows off of the table!"
"Alder your fork is in the wrong hand!"
"Alder you should know this by now!"
"Alder you're holding the classs up!"
"Alder!"
This went on for an hour. Me getting scolded for not doing something correctly and then the other students laughing at me in French.
You know when you're walking in a store or something, and you hear someone speaking in a different language that you don't know, and you think they're talking about you? That's what this feels like but I know they're talking about me!
"Ok, time for seventh hour!" What was seventh hour again?
I went up to the friendliest looking student and tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned around to me he looked annoyed.
"U-Um whats seventh hour?" He looked at me for two more seconds and then walked away. Okay.. maybe he just didn't understand me. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt!
I just followed the crowd to some other big room. I sat down in the back, watching everyone talk to their friends. It didn't really bother me too much because I never really had friends in my school either but... it made me start to miss Callum. Not only that, I can't stand the language barrier!
I looked over and saw Edwin sit next to me. I smiled at him, a weight lifting off of my shoulders.
"This hour is math. I'm going to have to be with you in all your classes until you learn some French to the point that you can get by." But he wasn't there last hour. I made a fool out of myself.
"Where were you last hour?"
"I was getting some French lesson books and a notebook, and other things for your French lessons. From no other than your favorite butler ever, Edwin." He did a little bow and I laughed, my mood lightening a bit.
The whole math hour Edwin translated for me, but eventually just started teacher me himself. He said "The teacher didn't know what he was talking about."
"What's next?" I looked around as all of the students walked out of the church sized room.
"Gym, and sadly I can't stay with you." I pouted, not only do I not like gym but Edwin wouldn't be there?
"I'm sorry, but you're gym clothes are on the bench in the back. Follow the rest so you don't get lost, hurry." I said thanks to Edwin and ran after the others, following them into a locker room.
Ok, bench in the back. I got back there and saw folded clothes. They were red sweatpants and a red sweatshirt with the school logo on both.
The school logo was a circle with the cross inside of it. How boring. Around the circle it said the name of the school.
I quickly put on the clothes and they were a little too big on me but hey, I like oversized clothes anyways.
I followed the other guys into the gym. The teacher called everyone over, and everyone sat down so I did too.
"vous permet de commencer la classe avec deux tours à l'extérieur autour de la piste. Il devrait être facile." (lets start off class with two laps outside around the track. It should be easy.)
Everyone got up, and walked out the back doors. I quickly followed them basically running to catch up. Why are they all so dang tall?
Once I caught up I was out of breath, but everyone started immediately running around the track. Oh come on, of course we would be running right now!
I started to run and everyone was already way ahead of me. Half way through I had to stop because I was so out of breath. I seriously need to work out more.
Once I made one lap around I was so proud of myself. I stopped and everyone looked at me. The coach pointed back at the track and I was confused.
Then I remembered that everyone passed me so they must have ran two laps. I took in a deep breath and started to run again.
My chest started to get really tight and I tasted blood. I stopped half way again and I heard a yell from the gym teacher. Didn't quite know what he said though because it was in French!
I started to run again, I could see all the other students laughing at me. I wanted to dig a hole and jump into it at this moment.
By the time I got to the rest of the group my legs gave out and I just laid on the floor. Gym class is over right? Please say it's over.
The gym teacher started speaking again but I didn't pay attention. Why should I if I can't understand him in the first place?
"Temps pour le soccer, sortir dans le domaine!" Everyone started to move and I let out a long groan.
"Hey new kid, get up time for soccer." A kid nudged me with his foot. He had a thick accent.
I got up and followed everyone else out onto the field. Immediately I heard a laugh and when I turned around to see what the commotion was a ball hit me in the head. Did I mention how much I hate gym class?
Callum's POV:
I had a small backpack packed as I wasn't expecting to stay long. I stopped before I reached the door and grabbed Theo's stuffie.
As I walked out of the door my phone rang. Ugh it's the company.
"Hello?"
"Yes, we have a job for you. Everyone has to participate as it's very dangerous. Meet at the company headquarters, we will give you proper guns and equipment. If you don't show you're fired." They hung up before I could say anything.
What am I going to do? This job helps me support Theo and the place we're living in, and without it we're homeless. I mean he's safe in the private school and this mission shouldn't take so long right?
I put my bag down, and sighed. Don't worry Angel I'll be with you soon.
