Three weeks earlier
"hey Danielle" Callum says, walking over to me. I am standing up against my locker putting books away.
"hey, what's up? " I look at him. His eyes are crisp blue and the freckles pop off his face.
"nothing much anyways, would you like to come to a party down at Dango's Tavern on Friday with me? " he asks.
"you know I have a boyfriend Callum, Braden will be mad if I went"
"he doesn't need to know, why should he? " Callum continues the conversation but it pushes me out of my comfort zone.
"he should know, have you ever heard of a truthful relationship?" I say sarcastically.
"well yes I have. But this one doesn't need to be truthful"
I roll my eyes and start to walk away but I am tugged back and before I know it, our lips and planted together.
I try and pull away but it's too late.
"there you go, now half of the work is already done" Callum says then starts to walk away slowly.
I look around to see if anyone has saw us only to see a enfuriated Braden storming down the corridor.
At first I thought he was coming for Callum and was half expecting him to walk straight past me.
"what on earth Dani!! " he screams in my face so close that I can feel the warmth from his breath.
Then it hits me, not a thought, not a memory but his fist actually hits me.
Square in the cheek, he hits me again. Many people surrounding us but nobody does anything, only gasps and Braden's voice can be heard.
"you little, ah you know what you are! "
Another punch in the face. I look up and out of the corner of my eye I see Callum just standing there. Looking, not doing anything.
"what is going on here!! " I hear and familiar voice that shouts down the corridor.
"get off her!! How dare you just... Get out of my sight you ........"
I see Chloe rush over to me and give me a hug. I can't see out of my eye and everything seems and feels swollen.
Tears are slowly running down my face, two at a time.
I pull myself up off the ground and walk over to Callum and slap him across the face.
"you're just as bad as him!! " I continue to walk down the hallway, not even bothering to turn back.
