Like Father like Son

Humming you covered your son's head with a cap. It didn't stay there for long since he ripped it away and tossed it to the ground.

"I'm not wearing this" he shouted.

"Don't be stubborn, darling" you said, retrieving the piece of cloth "It's cold outside"

"I don't care! I'm not a baby. I'm five"

"I know, but if you want to go and play you'll have to wear a cap" He narrowed his eyes and looked up at you, crossing his arms.

"No"

"Look, it's not that bad. Or do you want to wear another one?"

"No! I don't want one" he tried to push your hands away. That was the moment when George entered the flat. When he saw you he chuckled.

"What's the matter?"

"Your son is being stubborn. That's the matter!"

"Hey, what's the problem, mate" he wanted to know from his son.

"I don't want to wear that thing" he screamed, pointing at the cap you held in the hands.

"See?" you said.

"Come here" George ordered and your son stomped towards him. "I need to tell you something." With that he pulled of his own cap and pointed to his missing ear. "We never told you the truth how that happened" Frowning you looked at your husband and the boy. "When I was your age and older I also didn't want to cover my head properly. But one day, it was so cold outside that it didn't end well. At first it seemed okay, but soon we realised that one of my ears fell off from the cold"

"What?" Little Fred covered both his ears with his hands. "I thought you lost it in a battle"

"We told that everyone because it sounds better."

"But I don't want my ears to freeze off"

"That's easy. Just wear a cap, then it doesn't happen" he came over to you, took the clothing and put it on his son's head. This time Fred let it happen and pulled it down a little. Smiling George kissed his forehead. "That's a lot better" your son nodded and turned towards you, wiggling with his fingers.

"Can I have gloves too?"
