"This cannot be happening!" George exclaimed as soon as you had showed him the letter. "This is a fucking joke! They can't be serious!" he looked as if he was about to tear the parchment into pieces. Instead he tossed it to the ground, bridged the gap between you and pulled you close. "I'm not letting them harm you"
"Hey" you said in a calming voice "It's just a questionnaire. Nothing will happen, after all I've done nothing wrong" George sighed and nodded.
"You're right. Still, I'm coming with you"

The date you had to come to the Ministry was some days later. Every day you heard your husband and the rest of his family complaining about the new law that all muggle-borns had to come to the ministry to clarify their heritage. About a week before you had to go, Arthur showed you an article from the daily prophet and made you promise that you wouldn't tell George or Molly about it since they would go crazy. You promised but felt bad because your husband still thought you only had to go there to fill out a form and then you could go home again and all was in order. However, Arthur told you that you probably would have to show up for a trial again and he said he wasn't sure how strict they were so he couldn't promise that all would go well.
On the day you had the date in the Ministry, George and you accompanied his father to the Ministry and he showed you where to go. You were told to announce your arrival at a counter and you would then be told what you had to do. With a sickening feeling in your stomach you made your way to that counter and you felt your husband putting a hand on your shoulder. The Ministry worker eyed you, then looked onto a piece of parchment.
"Are you (Y/N) (Y/L/N)?"
"Yes- I-I mean by now I'm married, so my name is (Y/N) Weasley" you replied.
"Alright. Whom are you married to?"
"Me" George replied, staring down at the wizard.
"Name?"
"George Weasley" he replied and the worker wrote something down.
"Follow me, Mrs Weasley" he got up and you made a step forward, as did George. "Not you"
"What?"
"You will wait here, Mr Weasley"
"But..."
"It's okay" you said "I'll be fine" when you turned to him you felt very, very bad. Hoping it wouldn't be the last time to do so, you hugged and kissed him.
"I'll wait here"

The questionnaire was quite easy to fill out, asking you questions about your ancestors and their relation to anything that had to do with magic. After half an hour you had filled it out and handed it to the wizard who was in charge. He studied the document carefully and looked at you.
"You will be guided down for your trial"
"My what?" you exclaimed, although you had somewhat expected it. Two men entered the room, took you in their middle and almost tugged you out of the room. When you passed by the counter where George was waiting, you saw him jumping ab, ready to take you in his arms. He looked very confused when the two wizards led you past him and he instantly followed you.
"Where do you think you're going with my wife?" he asked pissed. One of the wizards told him about the trial. "What? A trial? You can't be serious! She hasn't done anything you could charge her for"
"George, please" you said quietly, "don't make them angry" your husband snorted and he followed you. To your relief the two men didn't stop him. Finally, you arrived at a rather cold place where many other people were.
