"Wanna go somewhere after class? " Khumtsa was asking.

"Yeah sure. Who else is going?" asked Vito

"All of us of course."

"Sorry I'm not coming and neither is Grace."

We've been sitting in the cafeteria and I'm thanking my lucky stars that Tiren and Rachel are not here right now. After revealing the truth... Well, part of the truth, Atono has been lashing out at Tiren for the past two days in her own way which, I tell you, is the opposite of subtle. From the next morning after the sleepover, she has been giving him the looks that felt like she was throwing daggers at him. Worst part is, I was acting like his shield.

Ugh!

Every time Tiren came into view, she would grab my hand and walk in the other direction. And now her conversation with Khumtsa. Sometimes I wonder what she really meant by her 'I wont do anything' statement.

"Why?" Khumtsa was now asking.

"Because...because we have some work at my place." Vito replied.

"Oh. Okay." he replied as we entered the class.

The day went by in a blur and all I seem to remember was sitting in the classroom and watch Vito rip Tiren off with her stare.

"Will you just stop that?" I nudged her.

We were yet again sitting in the classroom and she was sending daggers at Tiren who looked mad and confused. I don't blame him though, anyone in his stead would've been pissed off at being ignored and getting murderous looks from a close friend and not know the reason why.

"Do what?" she asked without taking her eyes off of him.

"You do that and I'm gonna go home after this class" I threatened to skip classes again.  I knew it would work. It always did because she takes classes very seriously which is a good thing, of course.

"Yeah sure" she replied without much reaction.

Wait, what?

"Seriously? You want me to skip class?" I ask surprised.

"Who said anything about skipping classes? We're all going home, you know. It's the last class for today"

"And you're coming home with me" she added.
What did I say about mother-daughter trait inheritance?

*****************************

"So what now?" I asked her once we reached her place.

"Now, we find out the girl who stole your guy away from you." she said.

Not again!

"I thought we were done with this. Can't we just stop talking about this every chance we get? I've moved on Vito. You should too!" I said unable to keep it together any longer.

"I'm just trying to help you, you know!?" she replied, her voice rising an octave higher and the hurt clearly rung with every word.

Shoot!

"I know... But how is knowing the girl going to help me? don't you think it'll hurt me more?" I tried to lower my tone.

I could see her trying to relax. After taking a deep breathe she spoke slowly but the tone was firm and decided.
"We are going to find out who the girl is. We might not do much with that information but you are going to completely move on."

I opened my mouth to say that I had moved on but she cut me off so I shut up.
"don't you dare try to tell me that you've moved on. I know you Grace, sometimes more than you do. I know how much you were into him. After all, I was at the receiving end of your loud day dreams of marrying him  and what not. So don't you dare lie to me." she finished by pointing her finger at me and I simply nodded.

"So..." she began with full of energy. "I've made a list of possible girls after some research."

"Really Vito, you wanna do this?"

"Yes. So, first we have Asen . That lab partner of his..."

"Yeah I know her and she can't be the one."

"Then there is Abigail. The one he comes to college with"

"Nope. Can't be her either"

"Will you just give it a chance and listen!!" she snapped at me.

About time

"Okay. Go on Miss Sherlock "

"Ha! You wish. So, the last one is..." she hesitated for a moment.

"Is.... ?"

"Rachel. But we know she's not the one so we can cross it out. You know, it's just because we're very close friends.  I was in the list too but we both know that Rachel and I will never do that to you." she justified.

"Wait, you put yourself in the list? " I started laughing.

I could see through my teary eyes that she was smiling too. Her shoulder length raven black hair was curled at the end and her dark  brown eyes that always reflected what she felt was now looking sheepish. When I didn't stop my laughter, she threw her pillow at me.

"Okay, okay! That was stupid, I admit" she said throwing her hands up in the air.

"You know what?  Forget the list and let's go out for a walk. Maybe grab some food on the way." I suggested after I got hold of my laughter.

She seemed reluctant for a while but agreed.
We had gone to Nzan's Coffee House and were returning back to her place. I had kept my bag there so I had to get it and head home before mom or dad called. I had informed them that I was at Vito's place but rules were rules and I had to be home before dinner.

Maybe I should just tell her.
