We just stood there like that for a moment.

Think Grace!

"Oh hi Khumtsa!  Where are you going?" I suddenly asked with extra sweetness with a wide grin as a cherry on top to my effort to change the course of this conversation.

He just stood there staring right back at me.  To make it worse, Vito kept nudging my sides. Just then, her phone started ringing. She looked at me with a sympathetic look as she hung up.

"Umm... Grace, I'm sorry but my mom's calling me home. I need to go" she said.

Great! Just great.

She then turned back and walked towards her home leaving me under the glare of Khumtsa.

"So" I say, turning to him after Vito turned a corner disappearing from view.

"Where were you all these time? You just suddenly disappeared." I spoke again when he didn't reply.

Then all of a sudden his mood changed and he swung his hand around my shoulder and walked towards my house.

"I actually went to a camp because I thought it was a rehab." he said as we walked.

Oh!  Did I forget to mention? I've been trying to get him to stop with the weed and drinking.  Yeah, that sounds like Khumtsa.

"So you're clean now?"

"I'm getting there moonlight let me finish." he said.

"Roger that. Proceed." I rolled my eyes.

"My parents also thought it would be good for me and I agreed because I wanted to change, you know. The whole turning over a new leaf and those whatever.  I went there but turns out it was run by the NSCN(IM). You know. One of the underground groups."

"Hold on!  Say that again? Oh my freaking stars!" I stopped him with a hand gesture.

"Goodness Grace!  Can you get any louder? Please, shout it from your rooftop."

I gave him a glare and he continued.

"The first thing they did was take away our phones so I couldn't contact my parents or anyone. And then they shaved out heads and made us work everyday. While we weren't working they locked us up in a room. So you know, it was quite the torture. 66 days Grace, it was a total of 66 days." he finally stopped.

"Wow, who would've thought." I said more to myself.

By then we reached my house so I turned to him and said goodbye but just before I entered my house,  he stopped me.

"Hey Grace?"

"Yeah?"

"You know that tomorrow's the last day for this semester right?"

"Yeah..."

"Let's end it with a bang" and with that he walked away just to turn back again with a look that held determination.

"Bang Tiren" he smirked and jogged down the street and out of view.
