Third Person POV
It was early morning and in a small home Kagura slept in her room. Outside of her rooms was loud shuffling of one person.
Despite Kagura's graceful appearance, she was messily laying in bed and was sleeping like a rock. And only worked in favor to the shadow who was not moving very sneakily, what's the point if there's no fear to waking anyone up?
Today was Kagura's birthday and Hayabusa was attempting to make this a great day for her. But Hayabusa spending his whole life training, never actually learned the basics to anything but the needed skills to go against the former shadow.
But the thought is what counts, right? Hayabusa attempted to make a meal, but he ended up just sticking to something basic, steamed buns. (I'm laughing over 'buns' too...xD)
Currently Hayabusa was just trying to manage with the decorations. The shadow clearly didn't know his strength from all the currently ripped pink streamers, wrapping paper, and paper flowers discarded on the ground.
About everything put up was slightly crooked, but the effort clearly shined through. Despite all of Hayabusa's efforts the decorations he put up looked more like a child did so.
In the end, Hayabusa stops when everything looks somewhat...acceptable. The main piece of the decorations was supposed to be on the ground and messy anyways, for the past week Hayabusa has been collecting fallen cherry blossom petals so they could be scattered around the house today, and another extra surprise involving them.
Hayabusa's POV
Kagura's birthday is today and I just finished scattering the last of the cherry blossom petals around the house. Now it's just time to wait until she wakes up, I didn't plan much to do today, besides spend time with her. I prefer it to be at home alone, which is understandable because in public things also get limited.
I checked the time 11 AM...Kagura does usually wake up around this time...I might as well check on her than.
Walking up to her closed door I slowly cracked it open, I peak in and see Kagura still sleeping. I smile at how messy she looks, how cute...I pull my mask up to hide my reddening face.
Slowly I enter and sit on the edge of the bed staring down at her. I gently put my hand on her head, caressing her head she stirs a bit, but she then stops with a peaceful smile on her face. I smile back wishing I could just continue sitting here, just watching her in her peaceful dreamland.
But I knew she'd want to be up for her birthday. I sigh and gently shake her, "Hey Kagi...wake up, today's a special day..." She stirs a bit more as tired groans escape her.
"Not now...I wanna sleep still..." I smile at her reply, but shake my head.
"C'mon Kagi, it's you're birthday today and I prepared some stuff." She finally stops stirring with the mention of her birthday.
I watch as her eyes slowly open, she squints up tiredly at me. I chuckle and mess with her hair a bit, "Morning Kagi."
She tiredly smiles up at me, "Morning Haya."
I bend down and pull down my mask to give her a quick kiss on the forehead, "Get up, I've prepared stuff for you~."
"Okay, okay." I smile down at her once more before getting up and exiting her room so she could change.
~~~
Kagura finished and once she opened her door to exit cherry blossom petals rained down on her. I smiled as I watch I pull up my mask. She looks so pretty...her laugh brings me out of my daze, "What is all this?"
"I've been collecting cherry blossom petals for the past week to do this..." I gesture at the ground and all the scattered petals.
She smiles, "That's so sweet..." I avert my gaze to try and ignore the heat rising in my face.
"I made breakfast..."
"Really?!" I nod.
"Awh, Haya, you should've woken me up..."
"It's you're birthday, I don't want you working today. But, I didn't make anything that special...I can't master the kitchen yet..." She laughs again.
"No, I wanted to watch. This is a rare thing Haya, right?" I chuckle and nod at her teasings.
"Let's just eat, wait..." I walk up to her and bend down, I can see she's ready for me to kiss her, I smile freely as my face is hidden behind my mask still. Instead of kissing her though, I take a petal out of her hair.
"There was a petal there." I whisper into her ear just for some added fun. Then I stand back up and drop the petal on the ground to join the other scattered petals.
I chuckle at her red face, "What?" I tilt my head acting oblivious.
"N-nothing, let's just go eat."
"Wait." She stops in a huff, avoiding my gaze.
I put my hand on her chin and turn her to look at me, I pull down my mask, "You're so cute Kagi." I kiss her on lips this time and she responds quickly, exactly what she wanted.
!!!And here's where you can stop reading if you don't wanna read any mentioning of gay and this part isn't serious at all, so if you're fine with it, then continue on I guess!!!
After we finished eating, I took out my gift for Kagura. It was wrapped completely, but fairly messy.
She carefully unwraps the gift, probably because she knows that it'd be like ripping through my hard work.
In the box is some candy I knew she liked as a kid, a small cute charm, a bracelet, and a cute short yaoi manga, because why not? She likes it.
She smiles happily at all her gifts, "Ahhh! Haya, this is amazing! Thank you." I nod.
"I didn't know what one thing to get you, so I decided a variety of sorts would be good."
She takes out the manga and flips through looking at the art, smiling the whole time, "It's my birthday, so, can I ask you for something?" I nod.
"Of course." She laughs thinking about her idea.
"It'd be pretty funny and great if you could maybe...take a photo of you and-"
"No."
"Oh come on! It's my birthday! You said 'of course'!"
"No, I'm not doing that even if it is your birthday."
"That's so not fair!"
"How is it not fair??"
"Because I'm allowing it. And it's not a girl and the girlfriend allows and supports it." I sigh.
"No Kagi." She pouts.
"That's no fair...it's my birthday."
"And I'm not gay or one of your manga characters."
"Hmph." I sigh at her childishness, but it's still pretty cute...I get up and sit down next to her.
Silently, I wrap my arms around her in a hug, "You're too cute Kagi..." I say this into her hair and she smiles up at me.
"You're cute too Haya."
