Swords Online (Sword Art Online Fanfic)

Chapter 3

We both sprinted the whole way to the next town over where we bought new swords and equipment. Personally, I got a silver and gold-handled rapier which is a long light sword used for speed, and I got some new blue and white armor. Amanda got a single-handed sword and some red and black armor as well as a shield with a similar design.

"What do we do now.." I said,"And do you even believe what he just said anyways? I mean, it seemed pretty real."

Then Amanda said,"Well from the local gossip around here, it seems that over 200 players have already died from this game."

"Wait, how do you know that?"

"Well, it seems there is some castle in the town of beginnings that used to be where you would resurrect after dying, but instead there is a big block of black stone with all of the players names on it. Then, when the player dies, their name is crossed out and the reason they died is right beside it. Someone counted, and it ended up being around 200-ish players already dead."

"200!?! No way..."

"Yeah, and Clair?"

"Yea?"

"Being called by my real name in the VR world is a little unsettling, don't you think?"

"Oh sorry, then let's start over... I am Clara, post beta-tester of SSO."

"Ok, I am Emily, completely new to SSO."

"Awesome, Emily, first things first, can you be my friend? It's a little silly, ya know? You ARE the only person I know in SSO anyway..."

"Ok, we can also form a party too."

"Understood, I'll request then." I said with a smile

So I sent out the friend/party request, then it was final, me and Ama... wait no, Emily are in this until the end. Being an ex beta tester gives me a few advantages, but it might cause a few problems with the other non-beta testers as well...

"Clara?" She asked

"Yes, Emily?"

"Lets go and beat this game, for our family and all the people who depend on us from the outside!" She exclaimed

"FOR EVERYONE!" I yelled, and it echoed in our hotel where we were staying, no doubt our neighbors heard it as well, but I don't care. We will beat this game and return to the real world. Me and my rapier, Emily and her sword.
