Chapter 8

Floor 100

"I can't believe it Cam, we are finally here... It is so surreal..." I said with wonder.

"I know how you feel, and it is like being in top of the world here. The city itself is enough to make me want to buy one of the cheaper houses on the outskirts..." He replied

"Your commander said that we have two weeks to sightsee and do as we wish here before we enter the castle where the boss is right? Let's get a house together to commemorate the achievement of getting this far together!" I said excitedly, I mean he is my husband.

There is a lake near the square, so we went to buy the cheapest house, (which was NOT very cheap at all, and it was the only house on the lake that WASN'T made fully with gold either...), and moved in. The interior was incredible, and the kitchen was an absolute dream! I almost fainted when I saw the view from our bed room... A beautiful sunset over an even prettier lake, and then I asked myself: Am I dreaming? Is this all even real? Then I checked my money... Let's just sum it up and say that Cam and I are colossally broke. I believe that we have enough money for some bread and water though...

"Cam? Let's go and explore town!" I said

"Ok, I believe that there will be some ceremony held by the commander later tonight, so we should gather there after dinner." He replied.

"Uhh, Cam?"

"Yeah, Clair?"

"Do we even have enough money to go to a restaurant here? This is the golden city, or Messatorado, the capitol of Martinest. It is going to be uber expensive..." I said with a sigh, being money tight is no fun here...

"Oh, about that... I had some money in saving for dinner tonight... Surprise?" He said tentatively, noting my evil glare.

"Uhh... Ok then... Let's go then." I said.

Of all the cities and town you have ever seen anywhere in your whole life, imagine it being hinted with gold and about a thousand times prettier. Then you would have a town somewhere in the range of Messatorado. The restaurant food was that of angels, and everything about it to the last detail was like a living, breathing dreamland. Just walking around with Cam was what initially took me out of battle mode and into regular me again. I finally felt like a normal person sightseeing in a astonishingly beautiful world.

The the 8:00 p.m. bell rang as we arrived at the party for the people who fought, which included us. Everyone was invited, so it seemed like all 5,000 people arrived to celebrate with us. Then the commander came up to give everyone the update about the boss, since there were no dungeons leading up to the castle.

"I congratulate you my players..." He said vaguely.

"His... Players...?" Cam mumbled, I noticed as well, the commander normally said "My fellow comrades..." Not,"My players...".

"Congratulations on making it too floor 100, the final floor of my world, Martinest. Since this is a boss meeting I will tell you who the boss is. Players, the final boss is I, commander Ky, the final task is for one of you to defeat me in combat. The person who will face me is my own second in command, Cam. He is the only player to unlock the sonic pulse skill and Dual Blades. That is why. I will now be departing, and it has been a pleasure working with you all. I bid you farewell my players, and I will see you soon Cam." He said, then teleported away.

"I... I... I-I have to face Ky, the most powerful one-handed swordsman in all of Martinest... Clair... What happens if I lose? What will happen to everyone here if I lose this all-important battle with him?" I had to strain to hear his response because of the chaos in the plaza.

"Don't worry Cam, I have faith in you and your dual blades, and all you have to do is put them to the test against another player, just like a duel ok? You will be fine. Just be brave for me..." I said in a comforting tone.

"Alright, tomorrow though ok? I won't die. So, Clair?"

"Yes?" I asked.

"Let's go home." He said smiling
