Mack's POV. Chapter 2

I suppose my sister already told you the backstory on our life in Tulsa. Well, when driving to Oklahoma with this past, I didn't know what to expect. Would the boys remember us? More importantly, would they still LIKE us? All these thoughts occurred to me as we pulled up to our new home 719 N. ST. Louis. As we moved our boxes in and spent the day setting up furniture, I couldn't help but to think what our first day of school would be like tomorrow. Later that night, I rolled over towards my roommate, Kat, and mumbled, "What's it gonna be like?" Kat just rolled over and whispered, "Just go to sleep Mack."

I woke up the next morning ready to walk to school. My family wasn't too wealthy, so I didn't have my own car. I left earlier than Kat, making sure I was on time for my first day. As I walked down the high school hallways I heard. very familiar whistle. I turned to face the whistler standing by the fountain, and my cheeks burned red. There standing by the fountain was none other than, Dallas Winston. Also standing beside him was Two-Bit Matthews who uttered, "That's a nice broad." I giggled and kept walking. I thought of how someone like Dallas Winston could be attracted to someone like me. Dallas was a tall, black haired boy with hard brown eyes. He had brown eyes that said, "I'm mean and tough, but I still know how to love." Two-Bit wasn't too bad looking either, with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a rambunctious smile and a muscular build, but I was NOTHING compared to Dally's. I know it seemed a little weird to start crushing on an old friend, that doesn't remember me, and is almost seventeen now, but I couldn't help it. I was determined Dally would remember me, and maybe remember me as more than a friend.
