Jay didn't know what woke him up.
He just sensed a shift in the air or maybe the creak of the bed.
Maybe it was just coincidence or something along those lines. But when he'd woken up, he knew Daniel's eyes were open.
The first thing he saw when he woke up was the color brown. Eyes troubled and pained.
Jay saw Daniel staring at him, unaware that he was awake.
He saw Daniel's dark eyes creased in a strange way - a way that made his heart hurt a little.
Jay knew he was attracted to Daniel. He knew it from the very first time he walked into the Fashion Department. He didn't know how. It was like how he woke up - he didn't know the trigger.
But he was caught in the fire.
He stared behind his bangs, mesmerized by Daniel's facial expressions. The little twitches of his lips. The soft, gentle smiles.
It reminded him of when he first saw him. And the moment when he realized he liked the brunette.
It was that smile. That smile, like glass. So fragile, so reflective, ready to shatter into a million pieces.
Jay wanted to keep that gentle boy from melting away.
But instead it seemed that gentle boy was actually a mirror, shinning right back at that blinding sun. A mirror that took one glance at Jay and stole a piece of his soul.
It was in these few moments he realized he was in love. And he wasn't going to do anything to shatter that glass.
