Report after report, the list was never ending. Jay had burried himself further into his work, sifting through solutions to grievances, proposals, and dozens of models, all waiting for a stamp of approval. As the dark marks inched down his body, so did his workload rise. He'd been met with outrage from his doctors, they'd said the stress would only quicken the spread, but he'd also been met with stern approval- from his parents. They needed the extra hand, the extra pair of eyes. What they didn't need was a face for the company, they'd come to that realization years ago when the change in Jay had occurred. The position of being the face of the company, the symbol, had been passed down to his younger brother.
He'd just finished the last email before his break, when he heard a familiar chime. Immediately he'd sighed. It was a frequent sound that often broke his concentration and caused a headache. He opened his phone and saw an Instagram notification from the only person he'd followed: his younger brother. He'd pestered him at every chance he'd gotten: Jay, we hardly see each other anymore, you should try and keep up with my life. You're still not following me? Oh, did you see my new post? On and on, dancing like a little devil, until Jay had given in.
His eyes had run over the picture, about to close the app, when he froze. Jay stared down at the phone, his knuckles white hot in his grasp.
Daniel Park.
He eased his grip, lips slightly parted. His eyes slowly ran down Daniel, his face aflush under the sun. His smile was wide, and his eyes gleamed. . .and Jay was brought back to that sunny winter day when he'd met the gorgeous boy. That same pink, dusting his cheeks.
His mental image of Daniel was nothing in comparison to seeing his photo. He was reminded of the exact shade of his lips, the crease of his eyes. What his imagination could conjure, was nothing compared to the photo. . . How did the photo compare in real life?
Then he saw Liam's arm, wrapped around Daniel's waist.
Little did Jay know, that this little portal into his brother's life, would continue to feed his desperation. Little did he know. . .
