Normani's POV

If you have a crazy idea you have to commit to it fully. I refuse to let the people I love get caught up in my foolishness. Some people may say that I'm crazy for wanting to take my old boss out, but at this point it's the only option I have. In order for me to be fully free Dwayne has to be completely out of the picture.

Y/N is out having some father son time with Devante, that gives me an opportunity to go to the gun range and learn how to shoot. I got into my car and went to the local gun rang. I've never been to a gun range before nor have I shot a gun before. So this should be interesting little adventure. I'm just ready to see what I can do.

I pulled up to the gun crazy and got out, I looked around and there wasn't a lot to see. When I walked inside the woman at the counter quickly sat up. "How may I help you?" He asked.

"I um, I wanted to try shooting a gun." I said.

"Well you've come to the right place. I'm Lauren."

"Normani." I said.

"You can come closer I'm not gonna bite." She said.

As I inches towards the counter I looked at the various guns that were on display. It's crazy how that you can get military style weapons quicker than you can get a drivers license in this country. I stood in front of the counter and Lauren broke out the paperwork. She went over all the rules and regulations with me before taking me out to the gun range.

It was kind of like a warehouse, there were individual booths where you would shoot from, and the targets were off in the distance. Lauren showed me how to load the gun, how to hold it, and how to position the gun when I wasn't shooting.

I loaded my first clip and plugged in my ear plugs. I held the gun up and aimed at my target, I took a deep breath and fired my first shot. The kickback of the gun was hard I had to put it down for a minute and massage my hand. My first shot wasn't anywhere near the body outline, it was off to the side. If there was another body outline on the target that would've been the one that I git.

I took a few moments to gather myself before shooting again. I emptied the rest of my clip and examined my target, none of my shots hit the actual target. I slid my ear muffs around my neck and refilled my clip. Lauren came in a changed out my target, "Take a deep breath before you shoot okay, it really helps." She said.

"I've tried that but it didn't help." I said.

"You're thinking about it too much." Lauren said.

I nodded and did a quick, little stretch. I put my ear plugs back in. I used Lauren's advice and didn't think about shooting, I just did it. After the clip was emptied I examined my target. Half of the shits went to the chest and the other shots went to the middle of the forehead. That gave me a slight confidence boost. I practiced a few more rounds before going back into the shop to talk to Lauren.

"You did good for a first timer." Lauren said.

"Thank you." I said.

I looked at the handguns in the display case and tapped my fingers on the counter. "Thinking about buying?" Lauren asked.

"Yeah. My boyfriend and I just moved into a new place and he works nights so I just want to have a little something to protect myself in case someone tries to break in." I said.

"Okay, then the 40mm is perfect for someone like you." Lauren said.

"How much?" I asked.

"Two hundred." Lauren said.

"I'll take it." I said.

Lauren ran my informations through the system and it took less than five minutes. It took me two attempts and three hours to get my license. That's pretty sad. Lauren put the gun in a case with a lock and gave me a supply of bullets. I paid for everything in cash and walked out of the store. While I was putting my gun in the trunk of the car I felt a hand on my shoulder. I went crazy and used the tae kwon do training I had learned.
