Normani's POV

Whoever said before you get your blessings all hell is gonna break loose is a wise person. For the first time in my life, things are peaceful but for Y/N and his family the trouble just seems to be getting worse. First him and his brother had the fight of all fights, then his dad comes home and completely switches up the tempo, and he kicks Y/N out. Like, sir, you've been in and out of the boys lives for how long and suddenly you wanna come back and run shit. Y/N and Nolan have taken better care of their family than their father has.

I was worried that Y/N wouldn't show up to work but I should've know that nothing was gonna keep Y/N from getting his money. He's staying with Timmy which is a good thing but I plan on asking my grandma if Y/N came stay with us until he finds a place of his own. But if that falls through I'll take some of the money I made from selling pills to help him get a place. It's the least I can do to help my baby out in his rough patch.

Since every time Y/N and I try to have date night something comes up I decided to take matters into my own hand and plan a date for us. Dinner and a movie. I am businesswoman, I convince people to buy stuff and sell it, that's my thing. Cooking on the other hand, not so much. I know how to make instant noodles, a bowl of cereal, and how to order a pizza online. But I don't know how to make actual meals. So I cut a few and went to Walmart, I got some of their fried chicken out of the bakery, a box of Mac and cheese from the freezer section, a bag of King's Hawaiian.

People say you can't make a legitimate meal with only twenty bucks, I just did and I'll probably do it a few more times until I learn how to cook.

I looked out the front door and Skillet was sitting on my porch. Grandma always keeps some dog treats for him so I went and gave him a few. "You waiting on your daddy to come home?" I asked.

Skillet barked and started eating his dog treats, Y/N's car backed into my driveway and skillet started wagging my tail. Y/N got out of his truck and walked over to me. I gave him a hug and kisses him on the cheek.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Mmhm, just hungry as hell." Y/N said.

"Well you're in luck because dinner is waiting on you." I said.

"Ooh my baby cooked, that's what's up." Y/N said.

I gave Y/N a cute smile and turned around to go into the kitchen. I fixed him a plate and put in front of him. "What would you like to drink?" I asked.

"Umm fruit punch please." Y/N said.

"I got you." I said.

I went into the refrigerator to get the lunch and when I turned around Y/N was already stuffing his face. My big baby worked so hard today he worked up a monster appetite. I kissed him on the cheek as I filled up his glass. "Thanks baby." Y/N said.

"You're welcome. Since we haven't been on a date I figure I'd do something a little special for you. So dinner now, dessert and a movie later." I said.

"Sounds good to me. Now that things are somewhat calm in my life now, I'll be able to take you on an actual date." Y/N said.

"Take your time boo. I know things are kind of rocky for you so going on dates can wait. I just want to make sure you're okay." I said.

Y/N looked at me and smiled, I smiled back and started eating. The only time I watching Y/N closely to see if he wasn't a fan of my impromptu meal. He didn't complain at all, matter of fact he ate three plates. Afterwards we ate a pint of ice cream and talked about our day. I got up so I could wash the dishes but Y/N pulled me onto his lap.

"May I help you sir?" I asked.

"Yes you may. We've been dating for a minute now and I realized two things today. I haven't asked you to be my girlfriend and we haven't had our first kiss yet." Y/N said.
