"Akaashi, are you okay?" Bokuto asked, the concern in his voice was obvious. After all, Akaashi had been staring at his plate for 20 minutes now.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm good." Akaashi's voice wasn't shaky, but something was wrong. Bokuto couldn't quite put his finger on the problem, since Akaashi has always been introverted and refused to share his problems with anyone.

He even drove himself to the hospital last year when he stepped on a shard of glass, he said that Bokuto was sleepinh and he didn't want to bother him.

However, this was something different. It's been two weeks and Akaashi was still in the same frozen melancholic state. All since that morning when they heard about the murders, was Akaashi afraid? Or maybe some old client was threatening him? Who knows.

Akaashi just stared at his food, it didn't look appetizing, hell, it looked disgusting. Even looking at it made him want to throw up, but he couldn't tell Bokuto that, the idiot would end up worrying.

"I'm..not hungry. Eat what's on my plate for me, okay? I'll eat something later" Akaashi said. He rubbed his eyes and headed upstairs to his bedroom, he'd kill someone to be able to sleep right now, but everytime he closed his eyes - he could see it.

Their faces. Their poor faces. Them begging for mercy while Akaashi jammed his knife into their throats. He felt so disgusting, he felt so terrible..

Before Akaashi knew it, he was crying. Why was he crying? Did he feel sorry for the guys that he murdered? No, that's not it. So why? He wished he knew the answer, but all he could do was slide down the wall and bury his face in his hands, the sounds of his uncontrollable sobbing got to Bokuto soon, but the other decided to not say anything.

Akaashi was a sensitive person after all, at least that's what Bokuto thought. Bokuto always saw Akaashi as one of the most empathetic and kind people in the whole entire world, if only that was the truth.

He hated his job as a lawyer. Yeah, sure, a lot of money is involved, but it makes you go crazy? Akaashi always favored his health over money, but his job took the most out of him.

It's not that hard when he's actually defending someone innocent or when he simply has an easy case, however, since he is known as one of the best in his field - people tend to put heavy cases on him, such as murders, rape cases, assaults and so on.

Maybe that's why he became so insensitive, having to protect the biggest scums on the entire planet might have made him into one of them too. Hearing about those terribles crimes didn't even phase him that much anymore.

The first time he had to defend a real murderer was 2 years ago, it wasn't a pleasant case. Akaashi was back to Japan for a little bit and decided to help with a case. Yamaguchi Tadashi, was his name if Akaashi remembers correctly. After reading what he was being charged with Akaashi ended up throwing up, it was brutal.

As a matter of fact, that case probably left the biggest impact on him, considering Yamaguchi was sitting there, smiling all the time. "Do you regret it, killing your therapist that is?" Akaashi remembers asking, but Yamaguchi shook his head and just said "No. I did it because I love him".
