No matter what

A bit overwhelmed but very happy

2.5 months later

"Shit" perrie whispered, "what?-oh! Fuck. Right um" Alex turned around and saw the puddle on the floor and perries pants soaked, he knew what was happening and he knew to stay calm, how hard could it be? "Alex, we need to go to the hospital, like now" perrie said between breaths, she was already in some pain and she couldn't wait to get the baby out. "Babe, can you change into dry clothes whilst I sort the bag out and arrange for someone to pick Teej up from school?" Alex asked, perrie nodded in the hope that she'd make it upstairs.

Jade- "alex? Is everything ok?"

Alex- "hi, jade could you collect Tabitha from school please? I need to get perrie to hospital, her waters have broken"

Jade- "Oh of course! Do you need any help now?"

Alex- "no we'll be fine thanks"

Jade- "ok, I'll keep checking in with you, hope perries not in too much pain and everything goes to plan!"

Alex- "I'm sure she'll be fine, the baby's not due for another three weeks so it was a shock"

Jade- "I bet it was! I'll call you later good look mate"

Alex- "thanks jade, bye"

Alex packed up the hospital bag and phoned to tell them that he was on the way, soon enough perrie came back downstairs in clean pants, she grabbed her coat and walked over to Alex. Perrie was in tears, obviously scared about what was happening, "hey shh, you're going to be great" alex smiled pulling her in for a hug. Once the pair had left the house Alex locked up and got in the car, he started it up quickly and drove towards the hospital.
When the pair arrived at the hospital perrie was in a considerable amount of pain, they were quickly shown to a room where perrie got changed into a hospital gown and Alex started to unpack her bag for her. "Hi perrie, I'm Karen, I'll be back in a few minutes to check your dilation and everything but for now just get as comfortable as you can sweet" the nurse smiled. Once she'd left the room Alex sat down next to perrie, "you're amazing, you know that right?" He whispered, perrie let out a giggle "stop it" she smiled. After a few minutes the nurse was back, "okay perrie, if you could lie back for me, bring your knees up to your chest and spread your legs so I can check how far along you are. It might hurt a little but it won't take long" Karen said softly, perrie nodded and followed the instructions that she'd been given.
She was quick to check perries dilation in an attempt to be as gentle as possible, "right sweet, you're only two centimetres at the moment so I'm afraid you're going to be here a while, I'll be back in a little bit but in the meantime if there's anything either of you need let me know" Karen smiled before leaving the room.

"Fuck" perrie winced in pain and grabbed Alex's hand, "you've got quite a grip in those little hands" Alex laughed, "I'm sorry" perrie groaned, the pain alex was in was clear from the marks left on his hand. "Hey I don't care, as long as you're ok that's all that matters" he assured perrie before moving his chair slightly closer to her bed. "We won't be home anytime soon by the looks of it baba, I'll call jade and ask if she can look after Tabitha overnight and possibly some of tomorrow" Alex said, perrie nodded softly, "I'll miss her lots" she whispered, "me too, but we'll see her tomorrow" alex smiled.

1 hour later
Jade was waiting in the school playground for Tabitha, she could see and hear the other parents whispering but chose to ignore it. After a few minutes Tabitha came out, she saw jade and ran over to her "Jade!" She smiled happily giving her auntie a hug, "hey Teej, I've missed you lots baba!" Jade said as she returned the hug. "Where's mummy and daddy?" Tabitha asked as they walked towards jades car, "um they're at the hospital Teej" she replied, jade sensed the worry in Tabitha, "hey it's nothing to worry about" she smiled softly, "is mummy ok?" Tabitha asked quietly, "yes sweetheart, your mummy's just fine" Jade said.
"Why are they at the hospital then?" She asked, "we'll your daddy phoned me earlier and said that the baby was on its way so he needed to get your mummy to the hospital ready for the baby to come" Jade explained, "Can we go and see them?" Tabitha questioned, "I'll have to phone your daddy and see, I doubt the baby's been born yet so I don't think they'll want us to go for a bit" Jade smiled softly, "will mummy be in pain?" She asked, "I would think so darling but don't worry, once the baby's out she'll be fine" Jade said trying to comfort a very worried Tabitha.
