The mutt speeds into the pack house dirt spitting out behind us. About ten wolves in human form instantly surround the car, probably to make sure I don’t make a run for it. The alpha and his mate are standing at the door of the house; they both look curiously at me like I’m some kind of complicated puzzle for them to solve. The thought both pisses me off and makes me a little hesitant. I have too many secrets that I would prefer they not know, after all knowledge is power, which is one of the main reasons they want me so bad. I know something that could expose them all and ruin everything they have spent however many years they have been here building. I don’t even open the door of the car, I just sit there and wait, David’s little gang crowds around the door waiting for me to make a move. I just smirk but stay seated where I am, David opens the door and waits for me to move but I just ignore him. Stupid mutt dragging me out of my house and making me throw my cigarette out after I just lit it, those things are expensive, not as much as some of the other things I have but come on money is money and I can’t take the chance of going back to my old job at least not yet, smoking the shit is bad enough I know they’re going to check up on me here in a few weeks to see if I will lead them back to the big dogs. Speaking of dogs, David growls and grabs my arm and drags me out of the car, I whimper a little just to make him feel back and his eyes soften and he loosens his grip, but still refuses to let go, I try to ignore the little sparks that travel the area his hand is and instead focus on my surroundings, if I’m going to escape again I need to have a rout.  David looks at me like I’m his world but I’m still pissing him off, I smirk and tuck this information away for later. I finally start to cooperate, might as well get this over with. I follow David as he drags me toward the “Alpha” who also happens to be the Mayor. Stupid mutts run everything in this town. I groan silently knowing they all heard me anyway and try to keep up with David although his legs are like a million times longer than mine so I’m mostly getting dragged. Finally we are standing in front of the all important Alpha; I smirk and mockingly bow my head before looking back at him to see he has a small smile on his face. It shocks me enough I let my guard down for a few second allowing fear to creep in, I quickly regain control a squash it, I can’t let them know I’m afraid they will use it against me. I glare at the old man who really looks like he can’t be over 30, which isn’t fair, but he just smiles back at me before gesturing us inside. I look around one last time at the woods surrounding us before I’m shoved inside by Josh which earns him a growl from David, I really needed to figure this whole wolf thing out and why the hell the Alpha called me David’s Mate, that has to mean something important, something I can use against them. Something I can use to win, because I really don’t like losing especially to a bunch of filthy dirty stinky mutts.
