The cars stopped as the lights turned red. And you walked across the street safely. Wearing a blue shirt and a white skirt, you headed to your destination which was Seulmi's house. Seven blocks from your apartment wasn't that far so you took the chance. And also, you were trying to save money so instead of paying a cab, you'd rather walk.
You arrived at her house and pressed the button to alarm the people inside that someone is waiting outside. It wasn't long enough when Seulmi opened the door and greeted you with a peachy and sweet face.
"Y/N! What brings you here?" She always has that sweet tone that makes your heart feel light. You treat her as a sister and she does the same.
"My breakfast." You joked. But seriously your stomach was growling and you can't risk to spend not until you earn enough money. I know right? You're too careless.
"Ah, that's not a problem. Come in." She smiled. Like honey. She was always kind to you even at times you're very stubborn. She understands every single problem and frustration you have.
"Seriously, I really am hungry Seul. I can't spend. Not now." You pleaded.
"I told you it's okay, Y/N-ah. I'll prepare for you." She smiled ever so brightly. "By the way, how's the job searching doing?"
"It's not great. I don't know where to start. I'm not great at anything." You said. You sat at the chair by the table of her kitchen.
"Aw, you're great at keeping things clean. And I always love the way you make me pretty. You're good at fashion too... Which surprises me today cause you seem plain." She looked at your outfit. It's true, you weren't like this. You usually dress like there's always an occasion everyday. But this day's different.
"I don't feel like doing anything. I'm hopeless. My parents don't want me back, I need to pay for my rent today, and I'm a complete mess." You sighed. You really felt hopeless.
"Tell you what, I'll pay for your rent and just pay me back when you get a job, okay?" Seulmi knows you don't want to ask money from her but she can't leave you like this.
"I don't even know if I will have a stable job." You sighed once more.
Seulmi felt sorry for you. As much as she wants to help you, she can't because you're both at the same page, jobless. But she was lucky because she has supportive parents.
Just as Seulmi finished cooking for you, she placed the deliciously prepared meal in front of you and you started digging in.
You were thinking, 'Seulmi's right. I do have things that I'm great in.'
You were a pro at using make-up. You knew since you were like 10, no kidding.
Thinking about those good stuffs, your phone rang.
You placed your fork down and reached for your phone on your handbag. Seeing who it was, you looked at Seulmi who was also peeking at your phone as she nodded, telling you to answer it.
You were hesitant because why would Ryuan call you? Kang Ryuan was your boss at a salon you once worked for. She was good but then after three months you had to leave. Why? Because you broke up with your boyfriend who also worked in that same salon. So you had to mindlessly leave an important job because you don't want to see your boyfriend, correction, ex-boyfriend anymore. And that was three weeks ago.
Ryuan was calling you and you don't know why but you answered the call anyway.
"Hello? Miss Ryuan?" You asked.
"Oh, Y/N! How have you been?" She asked over the line. The same sweetie as ever.
"I'm doing great." Nope, no you're not. You're basically struggling to find money.
"You must be wondering why I called but... I may help you with something." She said.
"Oh, and what for Miss?"
"My friend is looking for a great makeup artist!"
