Epilogue
Melodie's recovery was the process that Erik had long waited for. Each day he saw Melodie, with or without her blond locks, made him become overjoyed. He waited for the day his angel to be released from the care of doctors, and when that day came he had a surprise. A proposal. Melodie graciously accepted. They were wed on February 14th, a day that meant the most to them. Melodie was twenty one, Erik nearing his fifties. Love knows no age, and time stops for no man. As the years went on, Melodie and Erik grew old together, living a life of calmness with children and grandchildren. The opera was done and there were no more notes to be played. On a calm Spring morning, in the year of 1980, the couple had passed peacefully in their sleep, whether of old age or not became a mystery. They were buried beside Gleb and Christine, forever being angels of music and singing songs in the heads of those who knew and loved them, for true love never dies.
