His Melody (Complete)

Chapter 6

When he arrives at her house she slowly walked up the steps and knocks on the door.
"May i help you?" Gleb asks opening the door.
"I have a note for you sir, from Melodie."
"Thank you."
Gleb grabs the door as Christine joins him.
"What is it?'
"A note from Melodie."
He slowly opens the note and starts to read.

Dearest Father and Mother,

I have decided that I am old enough to be on my own and make my own choices. I will be leaving New York to pursue a new life. I love you both but it is my time to leave. I bless you with health and kindness. Please accept that I am 20 years old. I need to leave, this is just not my place. I have many talents and gifts I need to use.

Your daughter,
Melodie

Gleb knew something was off, Melodie was never like that. She would never write a note that was only six sentences. He remembered how when he was fighting in World War II that Melodie's letters were some of the longest he had read. He also took note of the writing. It wasn't her. It was somebody else. "Christine, this isn't Melodie's writing," Gleb noted.
Christine nodded, she knew it wasn't the writing of her daughter. "This isn't Melodie," Christine noted. Christine looked at the hand writing then she felt a wave of fear come over her. She felt her knees buckle and she fell. Gleb was there to catch her. "CHRISTINE!"
"It's him I know it." she mumbled.
"Who?!"
"The Phantom. He's here and he has Melodie."
"It's because of that boy who lead her to him. We need to find them."
Gleb said setting Christine in a chair then getting his coat.
"How will you find them? They could be anywhere by now."
" i know she's here."
"But the letter said.."
"Christine, in the war when someone wanted to stay hidden they would write a fake note saying they were going to leave. She's still here and i have to find her."
"So you think he wrote this to hide her from us?"
"Yes she's here i know it. I'm going to Phantasma to find them."
"Gleb please stay safe, i don't need to lose you too."
"I Promise."
Gleb said kissing her head then walking out of the house.
Gleb walked into Phantasma and looked for any sign of him.
He needed to find his daughter. He almost lost Christine to him he doesn't need to lose her to this monster. Gleb knew that all he wanted to do was use Melodie for her voice. She would become famous and he would take all of the credit for her work.
