~ colby's pov ~ the next day ~

3:47 a.m.

We came home the next day. Sam stayed with me all night. The doctors did a few tests, not knowing why I had collapsed, or the sudden change in eye color. It wasn't even a natural green. It looked, neon. But I knew why.

According to them, I was totally fine, except for the huge bump on my head from the fall.

I woke up in my bed, in my bedroom. My vision was blurry for a few moments, until it cleared, revealing my sticky note covered wall. I stood up, and looked out the window. The sky was beautiful, pastel colors invaded the space.

Until I saw her. In the window. Her brown hair flowed down to her chest. She stared at me, her eyes hypnotyzing me.

I felt a tapping on my shoulder. My head whizzed around, noticing it was Sam.

"Hey. Time for breakfast." He said, then turned, and left.

I was confused. That didn't sound like something he would say.

I turned back to the window, gazing across to the other house. There was the huge, glass pane window, with the curtains flowing in the wind, but no girl. She vanished.

I walked into the bathroom that Jake and I shared.

There he stood, at the sink, brushing his teeth.

"Hey bro. How's your head?" He asked, his mouth full of toothpaste.

"Could be better." I said, rubbing my head.

"Hey, Brennen's downstairs. He wanted to see you? I mean, after what happened . . ." Jake replied, spitting in the sink.

"Oh. Okay, I'll just get dressed first." I said, walking into my room.

I threw on a Take Chances hoodie and some black sweats. I walked out of my room, bearing Brennen's voice down stairs. I walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen. There stood Sam, Corey, Aaron, Brennen, and Jake.

Werent Jake and Sam upstairs? I thought.

I raised and eyebrow.

Somethings not right here . . .

"Colby ."

I froze. It was a whisper. A woman.

"Colby ." The voice whispered again.

Then I realized who it was.

Mother.

"Why did you leave me Colby?"

I looked around the room. Everyone was gone. They disappeared.

"Why didn't you protect me Colby?"

I fell to my knees, crying.

"Colby." The whisper turned into a scream. "Don't trust it. Don't trust it. Colby!"

~

I jolted awake, drenched with cold sweat.

My room was pitch-black, illuminated by my alarm clock's screen; 3:56 a.m.
