It was an ordinary day in Echo Creek, and I was doing what I do best: Being an idiot. To be fair, Marco was acting a whole lot dumber than I was. We were destroying training dummies in the storm drain in the center of town. I would slice them in half with my magic sword that I stole from Toffee's fortress while Marco would simply karate chop them. My sword could create green energy waves at my command. Paired with my magically charmed hockey goalie mask, I was practically unstoppable. "Practically" being the operative word. Like every great warrior, I need my backup, and I have it in the form of Marco and my beautiful girlfriend Star Butterfly of Mewni. She's a princess from another dimension. It's because of her that I have magical artifacts to begin with. It was thanks to her that I'm alive and kicking to this day. From freezing her ex boyfriend Tom after I danced with her at the Blood Moon Ball to beating Toffee (with some assistance from my newly taken magic sword) and saving Marco. She's just amazing in almost every way. She ran down the side of the drain, hugging both of us tight.
"Hey guys! How's it hanging?" She asked. I smiled, her horns on her head band poking the bottom of my chin.
"We're doing fine, sweet cheeks. You ready for our party?" I replied. Star span around in happiness. I'll take that as a yes. She's really happy and normal despite the nightmare that was "Song Day" a few days ago. Not only did the songwriter reveal that Star lost Glossaryck, but that we were a thing! It was so embarrassing, I could die! Anyway, we walked back to Marco's house as the party was in full swing! Star had invited Pony Head and Kelly to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation.
"Hay J-dog! How're you and B-Fly doing?" Pony head asked in her annoying accent. I smiled.
"Oh, you know we doin' well!" I said, being as goofy as I could. Continuing to show off my sweet dance moves, the party went into overdrive. Marco danced with Jackie and all the couples started dancing together. It was then I realized something pretty major.
"Wait, where's Star?" I asked. Looking around for about five minutes, I realized Star was gone. Okay, this isn't working. It was then I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Attention, everyone! Some matters have come up in Mewni, so I have to leave. Possibly forever. So... goodbye." Star said, tears in her eyes. I ran up the stairs after her.
"Star, wait!" I yelled, stopping her before she entered her room. She turned around and looked at me, her blue eyes never looking this sad. I wiped the tears from her eyes as I held her tight.
"What's wrong?" I asked. Star sniffled.
"I have to go. Mewni's in trouble, and Mom wants me to help defend it." She replied. I snapped my fingers and my gear appeared next to me. I put on my sword and shieth around my waist while placing my goalie mask on my head.
"Well, I'm going with you. I refuse to let you fight alone. I love you too much to do that. I don't care what happens. I will not let you fight alone." I said. Star began tearing up again. I wiped her eyes again.
"Aww... don't cry. I'll be okay. We'll be okay. I promise. I swear, whatever the threat is, we can beat it together." I said, hugging Star tighter.
"Toffee's back." Star whispered. My eyes widened. Toffee? Alive? No. I won't be scared. I looked into Star's eyes.
"We'll take him down for good this time. I swear it." I replied. Star smiled.
"I love you." She said, hugging me tighter. We separated and entered Star's room, where Queen Moon was waiting. She had her hair down in a braid with scratches and scrapes all over her.
"Jacob? What are you doing here?" She asked. I looked down at Star. She smiled and held my hand. I looked back at Moon.
"I'm joining the fight." I said. Moon crossed her arms.
"No way! You can't fight Toffee! He's too strong!" She yelled. I stormed up to her and stared her dead in the face.
"Yes I am. Face it. We need all the help we can get! Besides, I have magic! I can fight! Plus, one more thing..." I said, holding Star tighter.
"... I'm not letting my girlfriend get hurt by some reptile piece of trash." I finished. Moon uncrossed her arms.
"You're really willing to die for Star and Mewni... I knew you were a good boy. Alright. Follow me." Moon said, tearing a portal to Mewni via dimensional scissors. I pulled down my mask over my face, activating the magic embedded in it by Star. Shortly after we destroyed Toffee's fortress, she cast a variation of the All Seeing Eye spell, allowing me to sense magical energy and sources of it. While the magic is active, the eye sockets of the mask glow white. I looked at Star again, a determined look on her face.
"Time to take back Mewni." I said, stepping through the portal and into the dimension of Mewni.
