The song

"What do you mean I can't stay in your room?" I asked. Since I've officially moved to Mewni, I've been living in the knights quarters. Obviously, that isn't going to work, so I asked Star to move in with her. She isn't taking it well.

"I'm sorry, but this is a GIRL'S room! You're not a GIRL!" She said. Yeah. I kinda figured that would happen. We need to figure out a solution though.

"Good point. But if I'm going to live here, we need to figure this out somehow, cuz I am NOT going back to the knights quarters." I said. Star nodded and put her hand up to her chin in thought. I did the same, trying to think of a solution to the problem. I looked out the window, thinking of every solution under the sun. I then noticed Star had a huge smile on her face.

"Star, what's with the face? It's comforting yet at the same time disturbing

"Star, what's with the face? It's comforting yet at the same time disturbing..." I said, kinda creeped out. She ran out of the room and into the hallway.

"Sparkle glitter bomb expand!" She yelled as a new door appeared in the hallway. I opened the door to reveal my room from Earth. I gasped upon seeing it: my TV, my bed and my mini fridge full of pop! It's all here! I began to tear up as I faced Star.

"Star... it's perfect. Thank you." I said, hugging her tight. She smiled.

"No prob Bob." She replied. I looked at her, trying to look confused.

"... It's Jacob." We stared at each other, trying to keep a straight face. We couldn't. We burst out laughing, falling on top of each other. I moved down and looked her in the eyes. We both started to blush madly. Our faces were inches apart now. We closed our eyes and slowly moved closer.

"Star! Tom's here! He needs you for something!" River yelled downstairs. We opened our eyes, our lips an inch apart. I got off of Star as she dusted herself off.

"Sorry. Guess we have to wait." She said. I sighed. I was so close! Argh, grumble grumble grumble... Star walked downstairs as I flopped on my bed. Ah, so comfy. I then looked at my mask again. How did this get linked to Star's wand? Same with my sword. How did this happen? Feeling kind of uncomfortable with this giant lump of wood and metal on my back, I unlatched my scabbard. Bending over the side of the bed, I placed the scabbard under the bed. While I was bent over, I noticed a piece of paper under my bed.

"What the devil is this?" I said under my breath. Grabbing the paper, I pulled it out, revealing the song I had written for Star about a month ago. My plan was to play it during the party, but Star and I had to leave, so yeah. That was a bust. I pulled it out and looked at it.

"Hmm... time for a big gesture, I suppose." I thought to myself. Star walked past the door to my room. She must be heading to her room. Now's my chance. I ran downstairs and stopped Tom before he left.

"Tom! Wait! I... need... your help." I wheezed.

"You're just now remembering the song you wrote?" He asked. I frowned.

"Shut up! I've had a busy week! You know, helping save Mewni and quite frankly the universe in general. You know, the usual stuff." I grumbled.

"Alright, enough with the sass. I'll get everyone together. We can practice and perform it later today." He replied, pulling out a portable mirror to contact everyone. Meanwhile, I went to Earth to get Marco.

"You're just now remembering that?" He asked. I sighed, slightly annoyed.

"Just shut up and come with me." I said, pulling him through the portal. Once everyone was there, I asked river to distract Star until we were ready. He agreed, taking Star out on some errands. Our group consisted of myself, Tom, Marco, Pony Head, Kelly and Oskar.

"Alright everyone, we've met up here to practice this song. We're doing this because we all care about Star. Let's spend half an hour warming up, then straight to practice." I said. Everyone got out their instruments and warmed up.

"Alrighty! Now let's practice!" I said. Marco raised his hand. "Yes, Marco?"

"How do we know what to play? We don't have sheet music." He said. I snapped my fingers and sheet music appeared.

"How did you-" Pony head started.

"Magic. What did you think it was?" I said. We began to practice Star's song in perfect unison.

(One hour later)

We finished practicing as we got our stage up and running. I borrowed Tom's mirror and called River, telling him to bring Star back. He nodded and hung up as we got into positions. River and Star rounded a corner as I stood on the stage, pulling down my mask, which I had applied stickers to look like how it used to.

"Jacob? What are you doing?" Star asked. I grabbed the mic in front of me.

"Just performing a song for the most beautiful girl in the world." I said as Manfred pulled a rope, dropping the curtain and revealing our friends. I stuck three fingers into the air. As soon as the last one dropped, the song began.

When the song wrapped up, I looked down at Star. She was in tears. I jumped off the stage to comfort her, but she ran off. I stood there and watched. In hindsight, probably not my smartest idea.

"Smooth moves, Mr Romance." Tom said. I gave him a look and ran after Star. I looked for her all over the kingdom. Finally, I found her crying under a tree on the outskirts of the kingdom.

"Star... I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you like that." I said, wrapping my arm around her. She then sat up and looked at me. She was crying, but also smiling.

"You didn't hurt me. I'm crying because I'm amazed at how much love and effort you put into that song. I absolutely loved it!" She said. I was in shock. I thought she hated the song, but she loved it. I helped her stand up, stareing into her eyes. I closed my eyes and slowly felt Star's lips connect with mine. I gently grabbed her chin, wiping away some tears.

We parted as I wiped away the rest of her tears.

"It finally happened. Our first kiss." I said, smiling. Star just hugged me tighter.

"I love you." She said, still sniffling.

"I love you too." I replied, hugging her tighter. We stood there for who knows how long, wishing this day would never end.
