Great. Even in a different dimension, I can't escape the rain. It's coming down like crazy, harder than it ever was on Earth! I want to sleep but I can't. I'm in the middle of a quest right now and if I sleep now, I won't get the drop from beating the boss! Man, I just noticed how similar Mewni is to Dark Souls at times. Weird. And I died. Expect nothing less from a Souls game. Just as the game restarted, Star walked into my room.
"Hey Star! What's going on?" I asked. Before I said anything else, she ran over and jumped into my arms. She then pointed to the door and who was standing in it. I couldn't believe who it was.
"Marco! You're here!" How did Marco get here? More importantly: WHY is he here? I ran up and hugged Marco. Seeing my step brother here with us puts a positive spin on this terrible day.
"I decided to stay here during the summer!" He said. Even better! Marco's not leaving! After releasing Marco, I looked out the window. The rain had lightened up a lot. I looked at the two of them.
"You guys wanna go for a walk? You know, just to relax and catch up?" I asked. Star giggled, jumping up and down.
"YES! This is perfect! Just chillin' with my Earthly best besties!" She said happily. Marco nodded.
"Sure, why not?" He replied, fiddling with his cape. I grabbed my pack and put it on. After telling Moon what we were gonna do, we walked outside into the light drizzle.
I opened my umbrella as Star cuddled against my chest. She then grabbed Marco's phone and played a song. I closed up the umbrella as she then began singing.
"Umbrella at your side, it's raining but you close it tight." I followed suit.
"And how are you purred a cat just passing through?" Marco pointed to Star's feet.
"Those heels that you like are soaking, but is that alright?" Star then wrapped her arms around both of us.
"Let out a sigh for another day, the same as the last. Come on let's try, dye it blue and change it up from the past. Reflecting up from a puddle but then gone in a flash. Is that the most that you can dream or wanted to see? But look around!" Star and I went back and forth singing to each other.
"Dance up and down!"
"The world is now!"
"Still going 'round!"
"Just feel it pound!"
"We're skyward bound!" We then sang in sync.
"Move at the top speed of sound! Running to another day, I wanna break away and take the leap! As we're stuck on yesterday, no sun to rise would be okay with me! Everyday, every day is okay. Taking it step-by-step, we'll always move ahead! Our love is glowing red! Need me more, need you more!" Star's hearts began to glow.
"You fall down seven more times, I'll be there, seven, eight, nine! As we keep trying we'll find we're always singing the same tune!" I looked up and a drop of rain fell on my nose. I scrunched up my face as Star giggled.
"Now falling to her side, the drops of rain that mix with light!" I sang. Star grabbed my hand.
"Stealing a glace, hid a cat who turned his back." Marco flicked my head.
"Their heads starting to sink, this boredom is too hard to fight!" I flicked him back.
"Just spinning lies with the only thread of kindness we saved, or if we're blind and the truth is just a painting in grey! Drowning is out, all the noisy drops that fall in the rain, but fingertips traced every line and opened my eyes!" Star and I sang in sync again.
"I'll paint it blue!"
"I'll play a tune!"
"I'm wishing too!"
"For something new!"
"It will come true!"
"For me and you!" All three of us were in sync now.
"And then we'll finally break through! Swimming through the Milky Way, I wanna break away and take the leap! Since we're falling anyway, no moon to rise would be okay with me! Every night, every night is alright. Taking it step-by-step, we'll always move ahead! Our love is glowing red! Need me more, need you more! Cry to me, know that I care, lean on me, I'll be there! As we keep trying, we'll find you're always gonna be here too!" I took off Star's headband and put it on as she began again.
"Shining down on me, you're my blue moon." I wrapped my arms around her.
"Dreaming forever to find now I'm awake!" Star smiled.
"I need to find tomorrow, can you take me away?" We sang in sync again as Marco watched.
"And go the top speed of sound?" We then looked behind us to see the whole kingdom following us. How long have they been there? As we sang, the kingdom sang with us.
"Running to another day, I wanna break away and take the leap! As we're stuck on yesterday, no sun to rise would be okay with me! Every day, every day is okay. Taking it step-by-step, we'll always move ahead! Our love is glowing red! Need me more, need you more! You fall down seven more times, I'll be there, seven, eight, nine! As we keep trying, we'll find..." the kingdom and Marco stopped, leaving only myself and Star.
"You're always gonna be here too! We're always singing the same tune! Every day from now on!" We finished to sing with a kiss, earning a huge cheer from the crowd. Marco began shooing them away.
"Go on without me! I'll be fine! You two lovebirds have fun!" He said. We nodded and waved goodbye, walking into the forest. It was calm and peacful: EXACTLY what I needed today. I looked at Star. She looked so happy. Little white hearts formed in her eyes. Her expression then changed to slight annoyance slash confusion.
"What? Do I have a bat in the cave?" I then remembered: I still have Star's horns on. I grabbed them and took them off.
"Whoops! Sorry. Kinda forgot those were there." I put the horns on Star's head. "There we go. You didn't look right without those." She hugged me tight.
"You big goofball." She said cheekily.
"The goofballiest." I replied. Suddenly, I felt something hit the back of my head and everything went black.
