Kion and Kamaria were still resting, after they had helped each other stop a fast rush of water. Kion was getting rather weak, and his muscles were starting to give in on him. Kamaria, was resting peacefully caught in a dream. It was about her mother, telling her to run once again, from something, or someone out there. She awoke frightened, and overwhelmed. This wasn't the first time she's had that dream.

"You okay?" Kion asked her, looking alongside him seeing the frightened cub.

"Yeah... I'm fine, it was just a dream.." Said Kamaria, turning to face him.

"Oh... was it the same dream you've been having?" He asked her, suddenly sitting up.

"Yeah.. you know, same old dream..." She replied, lost in her train of thoughts.

"And.. you keep having this dream constantly? That doesn't make sense, did something happen that causes you to keep dreaming the same thing?" He asked out of curiousity, he was confused yet, he wanted to know more.

"Look, I don't want to talk about it okay?? it was a long time ago anyway...." She said, turning her eyes toward the dark storm clouds that suddenly appeared over their heads.

"If you don't want to talk about it, I understand... but I can help you." He said.

"It was... that day, when I was only a week old. My mother, Sarafina, was grooming me, I had no idea where my father was.... at the time. Me and my mom heard a loud evil laugh.. and the next thing I know, I see my mom on the ground, battling a hyena. I was scared watching her be tackled, and clawed by this..... hyena. I heard my mom telling me to run, to run as fast as I could, and to never look back.." She said quietly.

"RUN! RUN KAMARIA, KEEP RUNNING! DON'T LOOK BACK JUST KEEP RUNNING!" Sarafina yelled out to her daughter.

The memories were coming back into Kamaria's brain, as she had explained her past.

"I hid behind the biggest rock I saw... hoping that I wouldn't be seen by the hyena who was attacking my mom.." She continued, her voice hitched at the memories.

"When I thought the hyena was gone, I ran out from behind the rock to look for my mom."

"Mommy!? where are you!?" She cried, looking in every path of grass.

"I searched everywhere, but.... I then saw my mom just laying there, in the exact same place she was... not moving at all." She explained further more.

Kion was silent, and was listening intently, his ears perked down when he heard her dark past.

"I tried everything I could to get her to awaken but nothing worked.... and that's when I realized, she was gone...." Kamaria, said so quietly, Kion could barely hear her last sentence.

Lightning flashed in the sky, and the rain began pouring down drop after drop, falling onto their fur, soaking their pelts.

Kion was stunned, he saw a tear roll down her cheek, and he walked over to her wiping it off with his paw.

"I..- I had no idea..... I'm so sorry Kamaria...." He said with sympathy, curling his tail around hers, their tails entwined.

"It's not your fault..." She replied back, crying onto his shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay.. please don't cry." He said soothingly.

The rain began to pour down harder now, as it pounded on the grass they were standing on.

"I should've never asked, I'm sorry.." He apologized.
