Prologue - War is Coming

Third POV

"Are you sure about this? I know that you want to go and visit your long lost relative but for him to just send a random email to you is a bit suspicious don't ya think?" Duncan said to Mimi, his new girlfriend. Duncan has changed a lot since the end of the Hunger Games. Mimi has somehow changed his attitude and has replaced it with a kind, and loving person who is no longer full of jealousy over Nina and Sjin.

"Oh please Duncan, he's family and my mum said that he was a nice man before he disappeared. Apparently, he helped my mum when she was suspected for the murder of my auntie just because she was in the same house during the time of her murder. He appeared in court as a defendant and since he had a lot of powerful friends, that could wave a finger and make anything happen, he bribed the Judge to declare her innocent and that's exactly what happened." Duncan gave her a look of disbelief but shrugged it off. "So can we go visit him?" Duncan thought for a while and sighed.

"I'll have to ask Lewis for a short leave and that means that I'll have to work overtime to record two weeks’ worth of videos in two weeks. If he says yes then we'll buy some tickets to..."

"Russia." He kissed Mimi goodbye as he left for work. "Can you bring me back something to eat in the evening?"

"Sure, what do you want?" Mimi thinks for a moment and grins.

"Surprise me." Duncan nodded and headed to YogTowers. As he walks into his office, he sees a yellow note stuck onto his monitor.

Come to meet me in Lewis's office when you've finished your first recording session with Kim. DON'T forget!!

It's Zaku. It's easy to tell that this note was left by her because of the neat and slanted handwriting. He moved the note to the side of his monitor and started his recording session with Kim.

Zaku's POV

Duncan better not ignore my note or else I will personally kill him! I know that he's planning to go to Russia with his new girlfriend Mimi to visit her long lost relative but I wonder if he knows what's been happening in Russia recently. There's a major terrorist group slowly taking over the country and corrupting the politics. I should probably let Lewis know about my 'concern' and ask him to decline Duncan's request for a leave. I walk over to Lewis's office and knock on the door. He opens the door and welcomes me in.

"Hey, how may I help you Zaku?"

"Well, let me rephrase that question, how may you help me and Duncan." He tilted his head to the left slightly. "So, where shall I begin? I know! Duncan's planning to go to Russia without knowing a thing about the terrorist group that could potentially kill him." Lewis took a sharp breath and sat in front of his computer. He went to BBC news and there was nothing about Russia. "Check the RDAA world news." He opened a new tab and went onto the website. It was flooded with pictures of terrorists blowing buildings up or killing children.

"How do you know about Duncan's plans to go to Russia?"

"I overheard Duncan talking about visiting a long lost relative in Russia in two weeks."

"This isn't good, what's your plan?" I shrugged, if I had a plan then I would've started to work my way down the checklist and not even consult with Lewis about it. I'm only talking to Lewis because I knew that if I said no to Duncan then he'll probably come to Lewis and ask him for the leave that I refused to give him. "Okay then, I'll talk to Duncan and discuss his choices with him."

"It's ok, he's going to come here after his recording session with Kim. He doesn't know that I know about his plans. When he sees you then I'm pretty sure that the first thing that he's going to say is - can I please have a short leave? Speaking of Duncan, here he comes now." There was a knock on the door and it opened slowly. Duncan walked in and closed the door behind him.

"You requested to see me Zaku." I nod and gesture for him to sit down. He sat down cautiously with his eyes focused on me. "What's going on?" I look over to Lewis and he nods.

"You see Duncan, I've been informed that you want to go to Russia, am I correct?" He nods slowly. "Do you know what's going on in Russia at the moment? He shakes his head. "A terrorist group is taking over Russia, killing everyone who doesn't want to join their group or isn't Russian."

"Are you sure about that? I've never heard of such thing happening in Russia." Lewis opens the browser that was minimised and he was shocked by what he saw. "Impossible."

"I'm sorry Duncan but I can't grant you your leave to a country which could lead to your death."

"Is there no exception?"

"Exception? Duncan, do you understand what we're trying to say at the moment? We're trying to save you from certain death!" Duncan and I was shocked by Lewis's tone. I've never heard him sound this demanding before but it's doing a good job in lodging the seriousness into the conversation. "Listen, I don't want to make the wrong move in letting you go to Russia and the getting a letter explaining that you were blown up by a grenade!" Lewis was starting to scare Duncan.

"You know what, I'll let you have a leave..." Duncan looks up at me with hope. "On one condition. The Yogscast comes with you on this dangerous trip to Russia." Duncan nods and thanks me. "Call Mimi and tell her my terms and condition. If she says no then I'll say no to this leave." He nods and walks out.

"Are you out of your mind?" I shake my head.

"I want to end this war in Russia and restore the peace in the country. Defending Duncan and Mimi on their trip shouldn't be a problem since we managed to survive the Hunger Games. With everyone's newly found abilities, I'm positive that everyone will live in this trip." Lewis nodded in agreement.

"I'm going to trust you on this one and that means that the lovebirds are your responsibility."

"Ok, but you're going to have to help out as well here and there."

"Obviously, I just meant that you'll have to lead the group on this adventure."

Mimi's POV

I hate lying to Duncan but I had no choice! The only reason that I'm in a 'relationship' with Duncan is because I was forced to by my boss/dad. If I disobey him then I'm as good as dead. My boss just so happens to be the head of the terrorist group in Russia! My boss wants to hold Duncan for ransom since he's kinda famous and people are willing to pay to get him back. He is a man of his word and I made sure that he'll let Duncan in one piece go as soon as the ransom of £4 million is paid within two months. At first, I thought that I wouldn't develop feelings for him but I'm not so sure about that now. I'm started to like him a lot and I'm scared that those feelings are going to get in the way of my mission. At the rate the terrorist group is growing, there's definitely going to be some sort of conflict against the terrorist group from other countries. The newsagents are keeping this a secret from the public because they don't want to cause panic. There is one thing that I am certain about: War is coming.

Hello! It's been a long time since I've written anything but I did say that I would do a sequel like thing and this is what I came up with. I posted a small section of one of the later chapters of this book in my first book: Yogscast Fanfiction (Hunger Games). I hope you enjoy this book as much as the other!
