Final Spark

Chapter 8: Final Spark

Pina's POV

I don't get it! She should be here but why isn't she. Her life force is strongest here and she should be standing right roughly in front of me. Where could she be? I checked my GPS and it also said that she should be in front of me.

"What's that?" Chris said while pointing at a small light appearing out of nowhere. I scanned it and it was giving off a small amount of aura that belonged to Zaku! "A star?"

"No, it's something that Zaku summoned from somewhere because the aura that's being given off belongs to Zaku. Why would she summon this of all the spells to use why this one?" Everyone looked at me with a confused look. "What I mean is, this spell she used is called Heavens Final Spark. It usually indicated when a person has given up and is sorry. But why would she us this spell specifically?"

"She might be trying to contact us from a different dimension." Alex said. Different dimensions? How did Zaku manage to make a strong enough tear to take her to a different dimension? "Those 16 people she talked about might've learned the forbidden spell to create an area which doesn't exist or exist and dragged her into the area without her knowing." That is possible. "Pina, is it possible for you to seal the spark in one of your life capsules?"

"No, I designed the capsule to seal souls not spells." My life capsules were for sealing the souls of those who I felt like had more to live for. I've only used it once to seal Zaku's brother's soul before it departed. He told me that he wanted to be by Zaku's side as he was dying and that was when I came up with the life capsule. The capsule was a small glass heart that would glow when a soul was in it. Zaku wore it everywhere even here in Russia. She didn't believe in spirits or the afterlife but it changed when her brother died. She doesn't like to talk about her past or her family because it was too painful for her. Recently, her mother died under mysterious circumstances. The RDAA led the investigation but failed to find a suspect or any evidence. The only thing they did find was that Zaku's mother had no core. After that, there were more mysterious deaths happening throughout the world and they were all missing their cores (the core is basically the heart). We named the killer Coeur Brisé which means broken heart. Zaku's father came up with this name partly because his heart was broken due to the death of his wife and partly because the victims had no hearts after death. Since Zaku's mother's death 2 weeks ago, there have been over 40 deaths within the RDAA. The Coeur Brisé is now on the RDAA's S-Class hitlist. The grand master has even gone as far as to hiring some of our dangerous prisoners who are on death row, waiting for the execution day. In return, they will be set free. The Coeur Brisé was a threat to the organization and the welfare of the members. The RDAA was small and if the Coeur Brisé carries on at the rate that he, assuming that the killer is a he, is going at then he'll wipe us out in a year. Considering the fact that the killer's first victim was the third strongest member of the RDAA was very unnerving. She was heavily guarded by 5 people who she trusted. Zaku hasn't told anyone about this except Nina and I. She's hoping that she can lure out the killer by drawing attention to herself from wiping out the terrorists. I knew that telling her to slow down wouldn't work and now it's come to this. She's gone missing and we have no idea on where she went. Just brilliant.

"Can you think of a way to capture the spell?" What does she think I am? A genie? "There's something I want to try on the spell but doing it here is too risky."

"I could try encasing the spell in my aura which could potentially work but I'm not 100% certain that it will." Nina nodded. I concentrate my aura into my hands and make an aura beam that wrapped around the spark. It glowed a bright white colour for a few seconds before dimming again. I looked at my hands and there was a small glass ball with the spark inside it. "Here." I handed it over to Nina and she put it into her pocket. "Let's head back to the bunker." Everyone nodded and we ran back as fast as we could.

Nina's POV - At the Bunker

If I can find a way to access her aura and see what she saw then that might help us find her. First of all, I have fuse our aura's together and when it's complete it means that I'll be able to access her memories at the time and see what happened. Someone knocked on the door. I waved a hand and it opened.

"How are you?" Hannah walked in with a tray of food and places it on an empty table. "Need any help?" This is perfect! Hannah's aura is steady and concentrated. Then again her aura is completely different compared to Zaku's. Hannah's is pure and full of life whereas Zaku's is full of hatred and anger.

"Yes actually, do you know what aura fusing is?"

"I don't know what it is exactly but I've done it before with animals. When I fuse my aura with animals I can control them and see the world through their eyes which is amazing!" Animals? Not even high class controllers can control an animal. This is good though because this means that she should have no problems with fusing with humans.

"That's perfect, do you think you can fuse your aura with the spark?" She looked over to it and nodded.

"If it means that we'll get Zaku back then yes." She grabbed a piece of chalk out of her pocket and drew a 5 pointed star around the spark. Then, she drew a line coming out of one of the points that led to an outline of her hands. "This is just for security." Interesting, she's using the chalk as a medium to make sure that the fusion doesn't fail. I've never thought of that before. Then again, I'm not really into aura fusing. I watched as she started to fuse her aura with Zaku's.

"Han..." The sphere suddenly emitted a large flow of aura that knocked us backwards. "Pina!" She appeared instantly beside me. "Heal Hannah!" I looked over to Hannah who was lying on the floor. Her aura was lashing out in all directions. Hannah's aura is trying to contain Zaku's but since they're opposite types there's a conflict between them.

"What did you do Nina!" Pina asked as she tried to get closer to Hannah. "I can't get close to her!" I didn't know that trying to fuse two auras that were significantly different from each other would result in this. Her aura was going wild and it looked like someone flailing 100 whips at once! "What do we do?" I want to give her an answer but I don't have one because I don't know what's happening. Is she experiencing what Zaku went through in the forest? That might explain why her aura's going mental.

"Pina, can you see what's happening in Hannah's mind?"

"I'm not psychic Nina or a psychologist! I can't tell what's happening or anything like that." What would Zaku do in this situation?

"Pin her down using your plants or something!" Pina stomped her right foot onto the ground and roots magically wrapped around Hannah. I didn't expect this to happen at all! Pina continues to pin Hannah down until she finally stopped. "Hannah, are you alright?" She looks at us and nods.

"I saw something... a man wearing a camo-suit with a gun." This must be what Zaku saw. "The man mentioned something about his boss bring them to capture her." What did she do and why didn't she escape?

"Can you fuse your aura with us so we can see it as well?" She nodded and we fused our aura together. We watched as Zaku leaned helplessly against the tree. At first, we were amused by her way of stalling the leader. I paid attention to her thoughts as she saw us arrive. Zaku had already figured it out and I couldn't maybe if I had noticed earlier on she wouldn't be missing.

"I give up..." Did Zaku actually say that. No, she would never say that. We stopped fusing out aura's together.

"I can't believe it either." Hannah said. "Zaku's not the kind of person to say it but something must've gotten to her which made her say that."

"That man is one of the top mercenaries in the world. There's not much information about him because none of his targets have ever made it out alive. The only thing that I do know about him is that he has an ability which can paralyze you. It is apparently unbreakable." What has Zaku gotten herself into?
