The 'Great' Escape

Zaku's POV ~ Dream

"In here Lewis, quick!" Lewis and I ran into an old hangar and hoped that the Indian army wouldn't find us. "We have to fortify this place quickly and find some place to hide." Lewis staggered around and collapsed onto his knees. "Lewis?"

"It's nothing Zaku. I'm fine." He removed his hand from his shoulder and revealed a large wound possibly caused by a gun.

"Fine? Lewis, you have a wound on your shoulder and you can barely walk!" He ignored me and looked out of the window. I looked outside as well and saw that the Indian army were about to open the entrance to the hangar. I put a hand onto Lewis's shoulder. "We have to go now Lewis!"

"No, you go. I'll give you more time to go and escape from this place."

"We're going to get out of this together! I'm not going to leave you behind!"

"But you're not leaving me behind. I'll always be with you." He raised his hand up to his chest and smiled. I knew what he meant but wished that he never said that because I knew that it would be the last time that I would ever see him. The door of the hangar started to break as the Indian army started smashing it down. "Go." I turned around and headed to the back entrance that lead to a large open field. Before I left the hangar I looked back once more at Lewis. "I'll always be with you." I ran out the door and ran as fast as I could away from the hangar. When I reached a forest area, I climbed up a tree and curled into a ball. Did I do the right thing? Could I have saved Lewis? After that I heard the sound I really didn't want to hear... a gunshot. The forest disappeared and turned into pure darkness. "Zaku." Lewis's voice echoed around me. "Zaku." I looked up and I was surrounded by visions of Lewis. "Why did you leave me Zaku?"

"I don't know."

"You left me to die alone."

"I'm sorry Lewis."

"I knew that you would do this one day!" I covered my ears and tried to ignore all the comments by the illusions. Something makes me look up and I see Lewis on his knees with an Indian soldier pacing in a circle around him.

"Tell me where the girl is and I'll might just let you live." Lewis remained silent. "TELL ME WHERE THE GIRL IS!!" He used the butt of the rifle and smacked him onto the ground.

"I will never tell you!" The man lifted Lewis up by the collar and pinned him up against the wall.

"If you think I have the patience for someone like you then you are dead wrong!!" Lewis remained silent and I could see that the man was becoming impatient. "Screw this!" The man dropped him onto the floor and pointed his rifle at Lewis's head. Lewis looked at me and reached out. Could he see me? I raised my hand and reached for his hand.

"Zaku..." Just before our fingers touched the soldier shot and his hand fell to the ground.

"LEWIS!!" *Wakes up* What the hell? A dream? Indians? Wait... the Indians are the first people to actually start a conflict with the Russians? Lewis!! Today's the day that the group is going to raid this camp and attempt to rescue me. Titan's been with me for the last 2 days to make sure that I got enough food and water to build up my strength. He's changed the aura bound restraints to a soul restraint which looks exactly the same but it stops me from going beyond a certain distance from him. This allowed me to build up my aura.

"Are you ok Zaku? You were freaking out quite a bit while you were asleep."

"Yeah, it was just a nightmare." I've never been scared this much by a nightmare before, and I don't think that this is an ordinary nightmare. "Titan, can you do me a favour? Can you protect Lewis?"

"Sure, was this favour made because of your dream? Did you foresee Lewis's death or something?"

"Yes, I dreamed that the Indians came to Russia to start an invasion which starts the combat part of the war. Lewis and I are then trapped in a bunker where he tells me to leave him behind since they're looking for me. I run away and hide behind something and see a vision of him being shot by the Indian. The dream ended there." Titan paced back and forth for a bit before taking out a crystal from his pocket. "What's that?" He reaches into the cell and hands me the crystal.

"This crystal grants immense power to the person or thing that inserts it into their heart. In other words, you have to stab the pointy end into you heart. It does sound a bit dodgy and risky but I promise you that it's safe. Have you heard of Nature's 7 Blessings?"

"Yes I have but I thought that it was just a myth, we were taught that the crystals are extremely beneficial because it feeds off human ageing and reverses the affects which causes the person to become younger." I'm still not completely sure about stabbing that crystal into my heart... That's a natural thought right?

"Come on, it's time to get you out of here. Your friends should be here soon." He undid the fake chains and we snuck out. "Shall we thin their numbers down a bit before meeting up with your friends?" That sounds like a good idea! I mean, that would mean less to fight off during the escape right? I gave Titan a nod and we started to take out all of the soldiers that we came across until we reached the gardens. "Where are they?" This is strange, they should be here, did something happen to them?

"I reckon we can escape without their help if we're quick and careful." Titan followed my lead and before we knew it, we were on the other side of the gates. "Well that was easy! I'm not risking anything right now so let's head back to the camp as fast as we can and meet up with everyone!" We hopped from tree to tree towards the direction of the log house. Where are they? Did the Indians arrive and take them hostage or something? No, the house is very well hidden and there's no way that they would get captured. Oh God I'm freaking out! I have to calm down.

"Zaku, are you ok?" When a girl is freaking out and having a panic attack you don't ask her whether she's ok or not because that might just make things worse! Jeez, I can't believe that he used to be a father! His wife must've either been a very happy person or a very patient person because I could not have been able to put up with this everyday on a daily basis! "You might want to conceal your aura a bit because you are like a light bulb in a dark room." Breaath slowly and stay calm... stay calm... STAY CALM!! "Do you want to stop for a bit Zaku?"

"No, I'm fine!" Oh, I totally did not sound fine just now. "We can't stop, I have to make sure that everyone else is safe!"

"I'm pretty sure that everyone else is ok. If they weren't then you would've known by now because there woud've been some kind of sign." Titan's also a superstitious man... How was he a commander of a squad? I guess he had something that was special. I have yet to see that special something. "Do you know where we're going?"

"Nope, I think I know where we're going but I'm not completely certain." After jumping around the forest for a few minutes, we finally arrived at the bunker. "What the hell?"
