Trapped in my thoughts,
I look out.
Staring out to
A world of beginnings,
A world of endings.
As the darkness engulfs,
A sight to see,
Bright and yellow,
A small daffodil
Starts to grow.
Even without sunshine,
The bulb still blossoms.
Inch by inch,
It still grows.
A calmness enters my mind.
Then the noise
Takes over like a lion's roar,
But the flower never wavers.
Inch by inch,
It still grows.
Looking at the flower
One last time,
The noise whispers into
Nothing.

The spaces will stay...
