Flourish

Trapped in my thoughts,

I look out.

Staring out to

A world of beginnings,

A world of endings.

As the darkness engulfs,

A sight to see,

Bright and yellow,

A small daffodil

Starts to grow.

Even without sunshine,

The bulb still blossoms.

Inch by inch,

It still grows.

A calmness enters my mind.

Then the noise

Takes over like a lion's roar,

But the flower never wavers.

Inch by inch,

It still grows.

Looking at the flower

One last time,

The noise whispers into

Nothing.

One day,
The spaces will stay...
