<Lapis>
"Hmm.. Should I go with the black or- No, blue!" Choosing a perfect bathing suit was absolutely treacherous. Especially because Peridot would be seeing me in it. Of course, we'd already been on a swimming date before and have seen each other in one. However, this was Peri. I couldn't just wear any suit around her. While I was picking out a cover-up outfit, my phone vibrated on the nightstand. So, I picked it up and saw a text from.. Peridot! I quickly opened the conversation.

Hey, I'm leaving the house. Want me to come pick you up?
{WaterWitch}
Yeah, that'd be great. Just give me about 5 to 10 minutes when you get here.

You're still choosing what to wear, aren't you.
{WaterWitch}
..Possibly.

Ha, okay. I'm about to start driving. I'll honk when I get there, ok?

Ok, byee.
"Okay, I have about 10 minutes until she gets here.. Maybe I'll just wear a crop top and the shorts I have on."
I pulled a blue crop top with a black triangle on the bottom, out of my drawer. Then proceeded to put it on over my suit, which had dark blue raindrops against a lighter blue material. I suddenly heard a beep from outside, just as I was finishing packing my bag. "OK, I have.. sunscreen, a towel, phone charger, drinks, chips, and sunglasses. Looks like I'm ready." I made her way downstairs and to the door when I remembered, "crap, I forgot my money." So I hurriedly ran back upstairs, then downstairs, and finally out the door. After locking the house, I hopped in Peridot's car and gave her a quick peck on the cheek.

<Peridot>
Lapis got into the car and gave me a peck on the cheek, thus causing the me blush furiously. "Ready?" I asked, as she rolled the front windows down. "Yeah, let's go." She lay her head on the door, and after a couple of minutes, I heard soft snores coming from her side. I looked over and saw her asleep, so I took one hand off the wheel and put it on her arm. At the touch, she woke up for a minute, and then changed positions so she was leaning on me. I'm used to her doing this, so it's pretty easy to drive with one arm.
-10 minutes later-
We finally arrive at the beach, and I'm pretty sure my arm's asleep. I quickly find a pretty nice parking spot, and try to wake up Lapis. "Lapis, we're here. Wake up." I say as I nudge her. "Nooo mhm." She's so cute when she's tired. Also very stubborn. "Don't make me carry you out." She sits upwards and stretches then speaks. "Fine, let's go." We gathered our things and made our way down to the beach. This is probably the finest beach in the city because it has fine, white sand, and no one ever comes here. It's the perfect serene getaway. "Where should we sit?" I ask. "Uhm.. how about by the rocks?" She points to the left and I nod. As soon as we lay all our things down, lapis takes off her cover up and makes a beeline for the water. And she says I overreact. "C'mon Peri, the water is really nice!" She swam out to where the coral reefs are. "OK, give me a sec to apply my sunscreen." If I can find it.. "psh, nerd." She laughs. "Lapis, there's nothing nerdy about not getting sunburnt." Found it! I spray the sunscreen, and then head for the water. It's actually not as cold as I expected. And it's very clear, I can see fish all around me. "Lapis! Wait for me!" Where did she go? "Lapis?" Suddenly, she resurfaces, panting. "Sorry, I went under and didn't hear you calling. I found a lot of cool fish." "It's fine." I say, relieved she's ok.

<Lapis>
"It's fine" she says as she made her way towards me. "Just let me get over there before you go under again." I give her a mischievous look. "OK, I won't go under.." I say, looking away. "Ugh, you're going to do it anyway. Just make it quick." I laugh as I get ready. "OK, I'll be quick." I take a deep breath and go under. "Woah, it's so pretty. Look at the color of the coral." The coral I was looking at was a creulean color, almost like my hair. I reach out to feel it when I remember, Peridot's waiting for me. I get into position, ready to push off the coral to get up faster. And then, I push. Except, I don't go anywhere.. My foot had gotten stuck in the coral. I began panicking, loosing air by the second. I look up to the right, and see Peridot's figure in the water. "I have to get her attention but, it's no use. I'm going to drown". I proceed to try and yank my foot free with no luck. My foot began bleeding though, which is just what I needed. Then, I see a blurry figure coming to me which I recognize as, Peridot! My vision starts to become starry, and I feel very lightheaded and weak. She starts, hitting the coral? I'm not sure. My vision starts getting darker until..

Nothing but darkness.

<Peridot>
I finally get to where Lapis was. She hasn't resurfaced yet, which worries me. She's a good swimmer but, anyone can drown. I look to the ocean under me and see a bit of blue thrashing around and, what I think is blood. I get a horrible feeling in my gut so, I dive. As I go under and look, I see Lapis trying to get her foot out of some coral. She's stuck, and drowning! I have to help her. I find a rock, and start hitting the coral where her foot was. By the time I finally broke the coral, her body was limp and began sinking to the bottom. I had to act fast if I wanted to save her. I get to where she is, and begin pulling her up to the surface. I can feel my air supply getting lower and her chances of surviving, no better. We finally reach air and I swim us as fast as I have ever to the shore. When we get there, I pick her up and bring her to our towels, where I lay her down. I quickly begin CPR and do the best I can to save her life. I press down on her chest, then hold her nose while blowing air into her mouth. I repeat those procedures for what seems like forever, while tears stream down my face. Suddenly, she starts coughing up water and gasping for air all at once. I pull her into a tight hug, while saying "I a-almost lo-ost you. Y-you were d-d-drowning a-and I thought I was t-to l-late" she hadn't finished coughing by the time I was done talking, or at least trying to. Then she lay back down and stared at the sky. "I.. did I almost die?" I could start to see tears form in her eyes as she spoke. "I-I think so." She had tears down her face at this point. "Can.. can we go home?" "Are you sure you're up for it? We can wait if you need to-" "No, I'm fine. I just want to get out of here." She still had her head facing up, but her eyes were closed now. "OK, just stay there. I'll get our things together." We only brought 2 bags, so there was no problem getting things together. "Are you ready? Do you want me to carry you?" "I'm ready but, I think I can walk ok." She tried to get up, using me for balance, and was able to stand. However, when she tried to walk, she fell to the sand. "Agh, my foot. I think I must've twisted it trying to get free. And I know I cut it." She was taking heavy breaths as she spoke. I knew I had to help her. "Here, put your arm around my shoulder. I'll help you walk." We slowly made it back to the car. "Peri. I'm sorry." I unlocked the car and she leaned on it, holding her right foot up. "For what? You shouldn't be sorry for anything." I help her into the passenger seat with the towel still around her. "For being so reckless all the time." I waited till I got into the car to speak. "Lapis, if you weren't reckless, you wouldn't be yourself. That's one of the things that makes you, you." I said smiling. "Dork." She said, smiling and yawning. I gestured her to lean on me, and she did so. "You're my favorite dork." She said sleepily. "And you're my favorite Lappy." I said back. I felt her get heavier and her breaths became slower, letting me know she was asleep. At least she was ok.
