This is an au where they're human, but all characters have their previous powers, and then some.

<Lapis>
The beast was painfully slashing at her chest as she tried to hold it off with her hydrokenesis by forming a water grip on it. The gnarly creature had come through her village a couple of years back, and only a few survived. Today, Lapis is trying to get justice for her lost family and friends. She held her grip on the knife her mother had given her as a child, and felt herself slowly loose consciousness from the intensity of her wounds. Suddenly, a noise could be heard from just a couple of yards infront of her, distracting the beast. From what she could see, it was a small army of warriors and they all had various yellow clothing with yellow diamond insignia in places, much like the blue diamonds her village wore. The intensity of the beasts' kick threw Her backwards. Her vision began fading, but not before she saw a person begin to approach her. She heard one last cry of pain come from the beast before she lost all feeling, and her vision went black.

<Peridot>
The army of warriors glided through the forest, for they had heard cries of pain and attack come from within. Among those warriors, was Peridot. She was the brains of the team, and sometimes the more sympathetic. When they reached a clearing, they found a young woman trying to fight a horrendous beast. Peridot noticed she had very bad wounds and was barely clinging to consciousness, also that she has hydrokenisis. One of the other warriors cried a battle cry and they all started attacking the beast. Peridot stayed out of the carnage to make sure the girl was okay, and still breathing. When she reached her, the girl appeared limp and unconscious. She carefully picked her up in her arms and quickly made her way to the town, with the rest of the army in tow.
-back at the town-
Peridot had made it back, earning a few looks at the heavily bleeding girl in her arms. The medical building was in the center of town, easy to get to. She brought her in, and to the nearest operation room where she lay her on a table, and went for a medic.

Lapis awoke in a strange room, not knowing how or when she got here. "Where am I?" She asked aloud as she sat up, wincing at the pain coming from her chest. She glanced down and saw bandages wrapped around her upper body, and arms. She blushed deeply, knowing someone had to have undressed her to put the bandages on. "Good morning." A strange voice came from across the room, making her look quickly towards the sound. "How did I get here?" She started getting defensive, a trait she picked up from being alone for so long. "You went unconscious from your wounds, so I carried you back here to the medical building." Peridot shifted her position from leaning against the door, to sitting in the chair by the bed. "Oh well, thanks. I appreciate it." She gave a warm smile, something she hadn't done in ages. "By the way, if you're going to be staying, you should know some things." Peridot turned serious. "What makes you think I'm staying?" Lapis said defensively, cutting the other off from her explanation. "Well, seeing as you were clearly chasing that beast, and trying to kill it, I'd say there's nowhere you'd have to go. Anyways, there is an enemy by the name of Jasper who comes to terrorize us every 3 months or so. It's been about 2 and a half months, so if suggest you should start preparing for her. If it comes to that, I mean." Lapis was thinking about how bad this "Jasper" could possibly be. "I could help you train, if you want." Lapis looked up at Peridot who was nervously scratching the back of her neck and had the slightest tint of red on her cheeks. "Yeah, sure. That'd be great." They both smiled and started to have small talk, learning more about each other. The assigned nurse came in after about 10 minutes to check on Lapis. "You'll have to stay in here for about a week, while your wounds heal. I'll be in every day to change the bandages and give you required meals. I'm sure Peridot here, will keep you busy until your withdrawl." She gestured to Peridot, who was leaning against the wall near the bed. "How bad are the wounds?" Lapis asked, worried about her injuries caused during battle. "Well, they could've been much worse. But, as far as I see, you should be fine." Lapis became relieved at hearing that. "Now Peridot, you may want to give Lapis a bit of time to relax and sleep." The nurse was reaching into her pocket, and brought out a closed syringe. "W-what's that for?" Lapis wouldn't tell anyone, but she had an immense fear of needles since her childhood. She began to get anxious and could feel an all too familiar panic attack begin to surface. "It's to help with the pain, and calm you down. It will also make you sleep for a bit." The nurse said, not noticing Lapis' uprising panic. Peridot however, noticed it and tried to comfort her by placing her hand in the others. Lapis wasn't even phased at this, and squeezed her eyes shut as the needle approached. She also started unconsciously squeezing Peridot's hand until it was over. "All done. I'm sorry if that brought fear to you." The nurse said, dropping the needle in the trash. "It'ss.. fine." Lapis slurred, already under the effects of the drug. "We'll leave you be. Have a nice rest." She gave a warm smile to her, and left, with Peridot following. By the time she reached the door, Lapis was already fast asleep.

<Peridot>
The week went by pretty smoothly, only a couple panic attacks (not as bad as the first) and Lapis was all healed up. For the most part anyway. Now came the training, which was going unsurprisingly well for the two. Their bond grew with each passing day since that fateful battle. And with each day, a certain threat came closer. "She'll be here any day now." Peridot said as she looked out into the distance. They were sitting, side by side on a cliff's edge, near the end of the village. The two swore they were just friends, but the villagers saw the truth. "When she gets here, we'll be ready." Lapis said confidently, laying down on the grass. "Tired?" Peridot asked as she shifted positions. She only received a hum in response. "Come on, let's go back. Want me to carry you?" She moved her hands under Lapis' body, and began to lift. "Yeahhh" she didn't bother protesting, as she grew fond of being in her embrace. She nuzzled her head into her neck, and drifted off to sleep once again. The walk back wasn't that long, and Peridot could take Lapis' weight for a while so, there was no struggle. Soon, they were back in town, and in Peridot's home. She carefully laid Lapis on the bed, and went to her washroom. When she came back, she got in bed with Lapis and quickly fell asleep too.

<Peridot>
Sunlight shone through the window, but that's not what woke up the pair of sleeping lovers. A loud knocking arose from the front door, so Peridot went to investigate. Upon opening it, she saw the army commander standing infront of her with a serious, yet worried face. "Peridot. It's time, Jasper's here. And she's already wreaking havoc. She brought others with her this time." Peridot had to take a moment to process this, she knew it was coming but, she didn't want to believe it. "We need you and Lazuli to be out here as soon as possible, no delays." He started to the other warriors houses, as fast as he could. Peridot began to panic, slamming the door and running to her room, meeting a confused and worried Lapis. "Peri? W-what's wrong?" She rushed to the other girl to put her hands on her shoulders to try and calm her down. As she would do with her. "She's here. We have to go." She deadpanned. Lapis didn't need any other explanation, and began getting ready.

A/N
I'm sorry I'm not being active, I've been busy with school and just procrastinating on everything. Here's this part I've been stalling to finish, and I'm making a part 2 for the Peridot&Lapis/Jasper battle. Be warned that I'm trying to make it a little more graphic and "gorey" than usual, so if you have any problems with things like that, let me know and I'll make a more friendly version of the battle. Again, thanks for reading, and following!!!
