The skies were filled with swirling clouds and devastation to come. News had been out about a storm approaching fast, but that hadn't fazed two young warriors on a mission. One, semi prepared for what was to come, the other had no idea what to expect. Now, this isn't the storm they're anticipating and walking to. No, they're on their way to deul and hopefully defeat a notorious villian, known for causing mass destruction and fatalities. This is what they had been training for all month. All preparation lead to this; Lapis and Peridot were going to battle Jasper. And the time had come. After a long walk to where she was last sighted, they had finally caught up to their target. "I-is that her?" Lapis whispered to Peridot, whilst shaking from fear. What she saw before her was enough to make anyone uneasy. A huge, bulky woman with a mane of white, untamed hair had just slain another townsfolk with her bloody sword. Her palms then lit up, and they were both projecting fire, which she used to engulf the neighboring village in flames. She had just gained another victory for herself, slaughtering another village, taking more lives. She laughed a terrifying laugh, as a group of her teammates came around, pointing out the duo that was our warriors. She turned around, only to see two more people's lives left to claim. Lapis tightly clenched her dagger in one hand, and Peridot's in the other. Peridot was also slightly afraid, but you couldn't tell behind the rage. I mean, who wouldn't want to kill the person who did the same to their loved ones? "What? Do you two want a fight or something? Not like you'll make it out alive anyway." She began to create fire in one of her hands as she approached the two. Lapis quickly let go of Peridot's hand, to be able to form a ball of water for protection. This made Jasper stop in her tracks. "You think a little bit of water will keep me from ripping you two apart? I've dealt with worse." She raised her sword, but didn't expect the blade to distort and bend as she did. "Maybe water won't be enough, but I think not having swords wouldn't help you." Peridot said with a smirk, as she bent the other opponents swords as well. "Lapis, take the others and I'll get Jasper." She looked worried for a moment, but then obliged. "Let's do this." They both spoke, separating to battle different foes.
The fight had been a rough one, Lapis was up against 5 bulky men, but managed to kill 3 of them. One died from a slit throat, another from a quick stab. She even managed to drown one. Peridot on the other hand, was still at battle with Jasper, and it wasn't looking good. She had multiple scars from Jasper's nails, and a few burns. Lapis noticed this and ignored the two she was drowning. They were gasping for air as they lay on the ground. They weren't her concern, Peridot needed help, and fast. She blasted Jasper with water and rushed Peridot away. The other was furious, seeing her teammates slain, she charged her flames, and fired straight at Lapis. The poor girl barely had enough time before she was struck with the fire, and knocked away from Peridot. The previously drowning pair of Jasper's team came and held Peridot in their grasps while Jasper made her way to Lapis. The water bender could barely move with all the pain she was in, and her dagger was just out of arm's reach. Jasper stopped right infront of Lapis, and turned to Peridot. "You know what, I remeber you. I killed your family. I killed your friends. I destroyed your village-" she paused, picking up Lapis by the arm, and grabbing her dagger. "And now, I'm going to kill her. Seems like you guys are close enough for you to care about her." Peridot couldn't take it anymore, she screamed in fear and anger, "LET HER GO!! YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU'D LIKE TO ME JUST.. just don't hurt her. Please." She begged, but begging wouldn't stop what was about to happen. "No, trust me. This'll be fun." She lifted the dagger, and thrusted it into Lapis' chest, before instantly pulling it back out. Blood seeping quickly out of the wound. "NOOO" Peridot half screamed, tears streaming down her face. Jasper grinned wickedly and then dropped Lapis onto the ground, her body landing with a thud. "I'd love to stay and chat but, I have more people to kill. Goodbye, I'm sure this won't be the last time I see you. Maybe then, you'll be the one dead." She signaled her teammates to release Peridot as they left with her. Once released, she ran the lifeless body that had once belonged to her friend. Her love. She fell to her knees and tried her best to lift her up, only able to lift her torso in her arms. "Lapis. I-i'm sorry. This is all m-my fault. I should've told you to stay. None of this would've happened." She brought a once warm and comforting hand to her face, and was met with a stone cold embrace. Her tears and sobs became more intense as she hugged her to her chest, hoping she'd come back, knowing good and well she was gone.
Quite a bit of time had passed due to her grieving, for the sun had begin to set. She decided she would go into the woods, behind where the fight was, and find a place for Lapis to rest. But, she noticed a familiar dagger, and decided what she'd do. Putting the dagger in her belt, she picked up Lapis' body, and made her way through the woods. When she found she had gotten lost, she stopped, and gently placed Lapis down on the soft ground. She adorned her hair with beautiful flowers of different colors, and placed a bundle in her hands. She also covered the wound with a small rock, which she had found nearby. Once she was satisfied with everything, she took the dagger out of her belt, and gave Lapis one last kiss on the lips. She then thrust the dagger into her gut, and collapsed on the ground, next to who she wanted to spend forever with. The last thing she saw before her life faded away was what she thought was Lapis holding out her hand from above.A/N
So this was kinda rushed, but I guess it's okay. I don't know why I always make Lapis the one getting hurt or killed, I guess I do it for the angst. In all honesty, this is a really crappy part 2, and I've been procrastinating finishing this. I have started yet another part however.{1150 words}
