Lapidot Oneshots

Prompt- One is sick

<Peridot>
I lazily opened my eyes, and took in my surroundings. I was in my room, in bed, sleeping with Lapis. She looked so peaceful with her head tucked into the crook of my neck, with both her arms and legs wrapped around me. I decided I should make breakfast, considering she always makes it. It'll be a nice surprise when she wakes up. As I slip out of her warm grasp, I look to make sure she doesn't wake up. Thankfully, she could sleep through anything, maybe even an earthquake. Quietly I made my way to the already open door, and down the stairs to the kitchen. Then I grab the pancake mix and start cooking.

<Lapis>
I awoke to the smell of something buttery being cooked. Strangely enough, because I usually cook. I also notice the absence of my partner as I reach for her in the bed. I guess I should go downstairs with her. As I tried to get up, I got a sharp and sudden pain in my stomach, followed my a horrible headache. I sat on the floor for about 5 minutes with my head in my hands as I try to get the pain to go away. It doesn't completely, but I'm able to walk now, which is good. I slowly make my way down to the kitchen and see Peridot by the stove, watching whatever she is making. I go up to her and hug her from behind while resting my head on her shoulder and see pancakes. "Morning sleepy head" she said softly. I only hum in acknowledgement, trying to sound tired instead of in pain. I don't want her figuring out I may be sick, she'll freak out and not worry about herself. "Someone's still tired" she snickered. I played along with a grumble. As she placed the pancakes on seperate plates, we made our way into the living room together. I sat down as she placed my food in front of me, and my stomach was telling me not to eat it. Even the savory smell was repulsing and made me nauseous. "Hey, why aren't you eating your pancakes? I thought you liked them." Peridot's voice brought me out of my thoughts. "Huh?" I tried not to sound suspicious. "You've been staring at your plate for about 5 minutes. Are you okay?" She sounded worried. I guess I should tell her. "Well.. I feel a little sick." "How long have you felt like that?" Ugh, my head. "Since I woke up." "Want to lay down?" I nod and scoot closer. At first I lay my head on her shoulder, but after a minute I climbed in her lap and put my head in the crook of her neck. As I drift off into sleep, I can hear her humming and feel her rubbing my back with her hand.

<Peridot>
I could tell she was asleep because she got significantly heavier and began to softly snore. I could tell she was sick, because she's usually more talkative and hungry when well. I feel bad, she didn't want to tell me about her being sick or feeling ill. After a couple of minutes, my phone began to vibrate on the couch. I carefully picked it up, only to see Pearl's contact on the screen. I answer and try to be as quiet as possible. "Hello?" "PERIDOT?! WHERE ARE YOU?" "What're you talking about Pearl?" "Why aren't you at work? Greg told me to try and call you. You're 30 minutes late!" Shoot. "S-sorry, can you tell him I'm not going to be able to make it today?" "Why in the world not?" I glance down at the still sleeping Lapis, and then speak. "Because Lapis woke up feeling terrible and I have to take care of her. Also because she's asleep in my lap, so either way I can't get up." "Ugh, fine. I'll cover your shift. Give Lapis my condolences, goodbye." "OK, I will. Thanks again, bye." I hung up and placed my phone back on the couch. I felt Lapis jump in her sleep, and become still. probably having another nightmare. They occur more than enough. Soon after, she began shaking and tears started rolling down her face. I grabbed her hands and steadied them as I said her name, trying to wake her up. "Lapis. Lapis wake up, it's ok." Her face shows her discomfort. "Lapis. Please, wake up." I shake her a little, and then her eyes shoot open as she stares at me in shock. "P-peridot." She began to sob into my neck as I rubbed her back. "Shh, it's ok. I'm here, everything's alright." She lifted her head to make eye contact with me. "Do you want to go back into the room?" She nods slowly and began to get up, but lost her balance and fell back on the couch. "Lapis, are you okay?!" I helped her sit back up, and she leaned on my shoulder with a tired look in her eyes. "Y-yeah. I'm fine. Just a little lightheaded. Sorry for falling." She began to rub her temples. "It's ok. Here, I'll carry you up." I proceed to pick her up, bridal style. "You really don't have to Peri-" I shush her with my finger. "No, I insist. You're sick, it's my duty to care for you." I pause, smirking, and then rocked her back and forth in my arms. She gave me a confused look, "Why are you rocking me?" I don't stop. "It'll help you fall asleep faster." She snorted, "haha, okay." She leaned her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. I rocked her for about 5 minutes, until I heard snoring. After grabbing my phone, I carefully made it up the stairs, and in our room.
-30 minutes later-
"Lapis, you need to take the medicine." I held the cup of disgusting bubblegum medicine in my hand. "No. I'm not taking it. I'll recover just fine without it." She crossed her arms and made a "hmf" sound and closed her eyes. "But if your sick, you won't be able to go swimming or go out." She opened one eye, and closed it again. "C'mon Lapis.. I'll cuddle you to death if you don't take it." She smiled a michevous grin. "Well now, I most definitely won't take it." I went over to her, still holding the cup. She let her arms down and sat crisscrossed infront of me. I leaned into her and started kissing her face, feeling her blushing cheeks under my lips. When I reached her lips and she opened them, expecting a kiss, I quickly replaced my lips with the medicine cup. Her eyes shot open, and I covered her mouth with my hand. "Either swallow it now, or we can sit here until you do." I gave her an equally mischievous smile and she rolled her eyes. I heard her swallow, and saw her face cringe from the horrible taste. I removed my hand so she could talk. "Happy?" She said to me, annoyed. "Yes, I actually am." I said, before kissing her on the lips. She got up and pulled me to the bed, where we promptly cuddled until we both fell asleep.

A/N
Heyy, sorry for the inactivity. I've had a mild writers block, and we just got through testing in school. I have about 3 other oneshots I'm working on so hopefully, one'll be done by next Friday.
