<Lapis>
Jasper had asked to come over and talk with me. I thought maybe she was more mature now, and over her abusive ways. Obviously I was wrong.
-2 to 3 hours earlier-
"Okay, I'm going to the job interview and I may be gone for a couple of hours. Are you sure you'll be okay with.. her?" Peridot asked while grabbing her keys. "Yes, I'll be fine. And if anything were to happen, I'd call you." I hoped nothing was going to happen. "OK. Well, be safe and.. I love you." She stood in the doorway. "I love you too." She closed the door and I locked it. "Okay. In about 20 minutes, Jasper is going to be here to talk." I ran upstairs to put some long jeans and a blue shirt on with blue sneakers. Once I had them on, I began making some tea in the kitchen. I had just finished mixing the tea when the doorbell rang. Slowly, I made my way to it and opened it. "Hello, Lapis." She stood there, waiting to be let in. "Jasper." I nodded as she walked in. I started to pour some tea for us when she spoke. "Please, let me get that. It's the least I could do." I guess I could use a hand. "O-ok, thank you." I went to sit down on the sofa. "Here you go." She sat down on the chair by the table. "So, what'd you want to talk about?" She put her tea down on the table and spoke. "W-well, I just wanted to.. apologize. For all that I did when we were dating. Obviously, apologizing won't be any good at this point." I sipped my tea as she spoke. It needed more sugar but, I ignored it for the time being. "Yeah, it won't help anything now but.. thanks, for the thought." I guess she had changed. "You know though, me abusing you wasn't even the worst part about our relationship." I froze when she said that. "W-what do you mean?" I'm starting to get a headache. "I mean, you were the worst thing about our relationship. You were the worst one out of both of us." Her tone turned icy. "That's not true." "Oh, don't try to be innocent. You were just as bad as me, maybe even worse. And now you date that stupid nerd, when you could have me. She can't even handle you, she doesn't even know what you're capable of. If she did, she'd be gone." She stood up. "Don't bring her into this. Is yelling at me the only reason you wanted to come over?!" I got up too, to stand my ground. "No, I came over to do something that should've been done awhile ago. I'm going to get rid of you, forever. Starting with this." She walked over to me and stabbed me in the arm with a needle. "Gaahhh!!" I fell to the ground and held my arm. "It only gets worse from this point." I tried to crawl my way to the door, and I was feeling very groggy. "Your not going to make it out the door." She was right because when I finally reached the door, i blacked out.<Jasper>
I watched as she became still on the ground by the door. "Finally, I'm getting what I want." When I knew she was unconscious, I slung her over my shoulder and brought her to my car where I proceeded to tie her hands and feet, and ducktape her mouth. After that was done, I placed her in my trunk and went back inside her house. I moved some furniture around and broke a couple of things so when Peridot came home, she'd be worried. Worried enough to follow the directions in my note..If you want to see Lapis alive again, at least one more time, meet me in the parking garage of the abandoned mall. Floor 3, section C. You have until 6:00 PM. If you're not here by the time noted, I'll kill her without you being able to say bye.
How does it feel to be outsmarted, nerd?
- Jasper.P.S. DON'T call the police unless you'd like to die.
That gave her about 2 to 3 hours to get to the garage where she'll see what loss feels like.. After writing the note, I placed it in the front door and went back to my car. From there, I drove to the mall and prepared for what's coming.
<Peridot>
I had successfully gotten the job. Now I was on my way back home. I hoped Jasper had done nothing to Lapis while she was over. As I pulled into the driveway, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. All was fine until I approached the door and found a note left for me, I assumed. After reading it, I quickly unlocked the door and, to my dismay, the living room was wrecked. I couldn't believe it. Jasper had taken Lapis to this secluded place and, if I didn't act fast, she'd be.. gone.. by the time I get there. Without thinking, I almost didn't close the door on the way out and ran to my car. I already knew where the parking garage was, so I wasn't hesitating at all.
-15 minutes later-
It's already 5:36, I don't have that much time to get there. I saw the dim lights appear ahead of me and knew I was in the right place. I drove up to the building and quickly made my way to the 5th floor, and correct section. What I saw as I approached my destination made me grow even angrier and nervous. There lay Lapis, on the ground alone. I ran over to her and checked for a pulse, upon finding one, I tried to wake her up by gently shaking her. She began to stir, and I could tell she was very weak. "Lapis?! Are you okay?" I whispered, in case Jasper was near. "I'm fin-" she winced in pain before she could finish. "I need to get you out of here. Can you walk?" I helped her get up, but she fell trying to walk. "I-i can't. I can't leave she'll kill you if she comes back and sees me gone." Tears began to well in her eyes. "I'll carry you then. No matter what, you need to be okay." I scooped her into my arms and she relaxed, burying her face in my neck. "You can try to sleep. We'll be at my car in a minute." She responded with a hum.<Lapis>
I was being carried by Peridot back to her car. I felt safe in her arms. She suddenly stopped and gasped "my car!" She half screamed. I looked up to see what she was seeing. Her windows had been broken, tires slashed, and gas wire cut. Jasper had done this, knowing she'd probably take me back. "Peridot, she knows we're here." She looked at me worridely. "You're right, I do know you're here." A raspy voice came from a few feet infront of us. Peridot turned around, me still in her arms, to face Jasper. She had a gun in her hand, and an evil smile on her face. "Put her down, unless you want a chest full of lead." She said coldly. "No." Peridot refused as her grip tightened. She clicked the gun as she spoke. "Put her down, and I won't shoot both of you." "Peridot, just do it. Put me down." I spoke quietly to her. She looked at me with scared eyes and placed me upright next to her. "Good. Now, I am going to shoot one of you. But who I shoot is for me to know, and for you to find out." It was going to be me. "I already told Garnet about this, she'll be here any minute." I looked at Peridot with terrified eyes. Jasper told me if she called the police she'd kill her. "Didn't you read the note? I said no police! Now you get to suffer.."
BANG
She had fired the gun. It had been done. I didn't expect to be the one hit. I collapsed to the ground as she ran off and Peridot started yelling. "LAPIS?! OH MY GOD! PLEASE, LAPIS, ANSWER ME!" She held me up as she tried to get a response from me. I tried to talk, nothing was working. I finally was able to speak after a couple tries. "Peridot.." She sobbed heavily. "Lapis, please, please don't leave me." I couldn't move, only speak. I tired to life my hand up to her cheek, but failed. She noticed and took it up to her tear-stained cheek. I smiled weekly and spoke again. "I-i'm sorry for.. putting you through this Peri. Please.. don't let this.. ruin you." "No, Lapis, don't say that. You're gonna be okay." She sobbed and held my hand close. "I.. love.. you." I felt a sudden pain in my chest and everything began fading. The last thing I heard was Peridot saying "I l-love you too", before slipping into death's sweet embrace.<Peridot>
BANG
Jasper had fired the gun and run off. The next thing I know, Lapis is falling to the ground on my side, blood pooling out from her back where the bullet escaped. "LAPIS?! OH MY GOD! PLEASE, LAPIS, ANSWER ME!" She didn't answer, just stared into nothing. I picked her up into my arms as I sat on the cold pavement and cried my soul out. "Peridot?" She weakly spoke as I looked down at her. "Lapis, please don't leave me" I sobbed, looking in her eyes. She tried putting her hand up, but couldn't. I figured I knew what she was going to do, so I put her hand on my cheek. "I-i'm sorry for.. putting you through this Peri. Please.. don't let this.. ruin you." I held her hand closer. "No, Lapis, don't say that. You're gonna be okay." She smiled weakly. "I.. love.. you.." She said, as her breath hitched and she became still in my arms. "I l-love you too." Her hand became limp in mine, and her body became significantly heavier. "No. You can't be gone. Please, wake up. You can't be dead." Nothing. No response. Below me, I heard police sirens coming up from the lower floors. There was no reason for them to come anymore. Jasper had escaped. Lapis was gone. I had no other reason to keep going. The cars finally reached my level and where I was. Garnet hopped out of her car and came over to where I was. "Peridot. I'm sorry I couldn't get here in time." I could tell she was right behind me. "She.. she's gone." I still had Lapis' lifeless body in my arms. "C'mon Peridot, we have to go. The EMT's will take care of her." She put her hand on my shoulder sympathetically. I hugged and kissed Lapis one last time, before I put her back down on the ground.A/N
I'm very surprised, I actually got a vote on my last story. Personally, I didn't really think it was all that great{1880 words}
