Annabeth's POV

The drive to Percy's house from school was around ten to fifteen minutes—not very long.

In the car, I realized that Percy and I have similar taste in music. We both like Panic! At The Disco.

At one point, Dancing Queen came on and Percy began to sing and dance along. I. Was. Crying. Actual. Tears.

"See that girl. Watch that scene. Dig in the dancing queen." Percy sang along at the top of his lungs.

I was laughing so hard that my eyes were brimmed with tears and my face was as red as a tomato.

Percy was also laughing really hard. He glanced over at my smiling, bright red face. His smile grew wider. He turned back to the road as the light turned green.

I was still laughing as we walked into his small apartment. I followed Percy into the living room through a small entrance hallway with a door. I assumed it was a coat closet. On my left, you had to walk through the living room to get to the small kitchen. Then on my right, there was another hallway with three doors. Percy led me down the hallway to my right to the last door.

He opened the door and the walls were painted half very pale blue and half turquoise— like the color of the ocean. I then realized that the blue was a design on the wall like waves, and the pale—almost white—blue was the sky.

"I like the waves." I said as I continued to look around the room.

In the center of his cozy bedroom was a full size bed with a plain white comforter. A dresser was pushed against the back wall of the room (from standing in the doorway) next to a door that I assumed led to his closet. Then, opposite the bed was a simple wooden desk with drawers down the right side. A chair was pushed into the nook of the desk.

He threw his book bag next to his desk. I placed mine neatly next to his. "Thanks. I find them calming." He said as he plopped himself on the bed.

"Yeah. It's kind of soothing." I agreed as I sat down on the bed. I waited for a few awkward seconds.

"So..." I began.

"Uh... snacks! I'll go get us some snacks." He jumped up from the bed and ran to the kitchen.
A few seconds later, he came back with a container of blue cookies. He opened it, took one out and bit it.

"Blue?" I said with a raised eyebrow while taking a cookie.

He sat back on the bed opposite of me, placing the cookies between us. "Yep. My step dad said that no food is blue so my mom has been proving him wrong. With like, everything." He explained.

"Ah. That's cool." I said before taking a bite of the cookie. "This is really good." My hand hovered in front of my mouth as I spoke. I didn't want to be impolite.

"Thanks, on my mother's behalf. She makes all this amazing food, I couldn't take the credit. I'm pretty sure if I went near the stove I'd end up burning down the building."

I laughed.

"So, Annabeth Chase. Tell me a bit about yourself."

"Well. My favorite color is grey. I like to dance. I hope to become a famous architect. And I am basically a nobody.  I live a fairly simple life with the exception of being friends with the most popular guy in school and being targeted by the most popular mean girl in school." I stated simply.

"Architecture, huh?"

"Yeah. I want to build something permanent. I feel like life is always changing. Everyone is always coming and going. If I build something permanent, it's like something to rely on. Something that I know will always be there."
