Annabeth's POV

"No peeking!" Percy said.

I laughed. "Where are you taking me, Seaweed Brain?"

"It's a surprise. Why else would I be covering your eyes?" He said like it was obvious.

"Fine then." I crossed my arms playfully and kept walking with Percy behind me, his hands over my eyes. "Dude you're gonna mess up all my makeup."

"Oh please." He said. "It's not like you need it."

I smiled. "I love you."

"Love you too, Wise Girl." Soon enough, we arrived. "And here we are."

Percy took his hands away and I opened my eyes. Everything looked familiar. The little pond. The fairy lights. The bench and small clearing. Suddenly, it hit me.

I gasped. "Oh my God." I turned around to Percy. He was smiling down at me. After all these years, we were juniors in college now, he was still taller than me. "Oh, this is beautiful. Percy!" I breathed. "You're going to make me cry." We laughed.

"After all these years, it's still here." He said. "I thought this would be perfect for tonight."

We sat down on our blanket and had our picnic. And it was just as beautiful as our first date, watching the hustle and bustle of New York City. It was amazing.

After we were finished with our food, and just watching the stars, my head on Percy's shoulder, Percy cleared his throat.

"Annabeth, I have something I need to tell you."

Oh no. This is never good. Oh my God. He's breaking up with me. After four years, he's dumping me.

No, he's not Annabeth. He wouldn't bring you on this special date and go through all this trouble to dump you.

Oh hey, conscience! You're back! And, you're right. He isn't dumping me.

Probably.

Percy took a deep breath. "Annabeth, you've stolen my heart, half my sweatshirts, and my virginity."

I laughed at the last part.

"From the moment I first saw you, I knew that you were the one. You would be the one I would hold and comfort. You would be the one I would fall for. You would be the one that I loved forever." He stood up, bringing me with him. He pulled a small black velvet box form his back pocket.

Oh. My. God.

My jaw hit the floor and my hands flew over my mouth. But I smiled. Tears welled in my eyes. I laughed silently. Percy was proposing.

He got down on one knee and opened the box. A beautiful three diamond engagement ring glittered. It was gorgeous. "Annabeth Chase, Wise Girl, will you marry me?"

"Yes!" I squealed. "Yes, I will!" I jumped into his arms and he hugged me. Then we kissed.

For a really long time.

And then, maybe we went home and... You know.

***

"So. Percy and I have an announcement to make." I announced.

We were telling the others--Piper, Jason, Hazel, Frank, Leo, Calypso, Nico, Will, Reyna, and Thalia--about Percy's proposal.

"We," Percy began. "Are engaged!" We said in unison.

"Well it's about time!" Leo yelled and stood up. All the guys got up and went to Percy.

"AHHH!" Piper screamed. She smiled at me. "LET ME SEE LET ME SEE LET ME SEE!" She yelled. She ran over and grabbed my left hand, the other girls behind her. When she saw the beautiful ring, she squealed again.
