Synopsis:

In the distant future, where cyborgs and humans struggle to survive after the war which destroyed the world, a being in white suit awakens. His name is Casshern and he remembers nothing of his own past.

In barren and dark dystopian world, where every being alive seems to hate his existence and the evil from his past wants him dead, Casshern, haunted by the flashes of his past memories has to survive and figure out who or what exactly he is and how he got to where he is now. But he does not know that he might not like the horrible truth of the past, hidden deep inside his mind...

Created as an intended reboot of Casshern franchise.

Casshan began his life as Tetsuya Azuma, the son of Kotaro and Midori Azuma. The former of his two parents was a scientist who turned Tetsuya into Casshan after Kotaro successfully revived Tetsuya's dog Lucky into a robot dog named Friender when Tetsuya volunteered to be turned into a neo human, despite the objection of his mother and father. Tetsuya volunteered to become Casshan due to another one of Kotaro's creations, Black King activated on his own and set out to conquer the world. In the 1993/1995 OVA remake, Kotaro and Midori are killed by Black King.

Lyuze

A female robot, she pursues Casshern out of revenge for her sister. Before the cataclysm, her sister Liza was injured by Casshern while trying to protect Luna, and eventually died a slow death from corrosion. However, she hesitates when Casshern willingly allows her the chance to kill him, and is unwilling to do so. Instead, she begins to follow and accompany Casshern on his journey, eventually developing feelings for him.

Spoiler:

Later in the series, Lyuze comes to realize that she loves Casshern. She dies happily in Casshern's arms claiming she lived her life to the fullest in episode 24.

Ouji

A robot technician who spends his time fixing robots, he is Ringo's guardian and takes care of her. However, Ouji has a constant dislike for Casshern, and seems to know something about him in the past.
