Synopsis:

Megumi-chan is a girl with a secret past. She used to be a boy until she met a person she thought was a magic user. This person gave him/her a magical book from which a genie appears to grant one wish when blood is applied to it. Megumi made the wish to be a man in a man's body but the genie has a twist: he grants wishes backwards so he turns Megumi-kun aged 9 to Megumi-chan. Years pass and Megumi enters High School where she immediately beats up the school bully who of course falls in love with her. She is looking for that book again to be able to reverse the spell placed upon her.

Megumi "Megu" Amatsuka

Megumi Amatsuka used to be a boy until she met a person she thought was a magic user. This person gave him/her a magical book from which a genie appears to grant one wish when blood is applied to it. Megumi made the wish to be manly but the genie has a grants his/her wishe but he/she turns into a girl. Years pass and Megumi enters High School where she immediately beats up the school bully who of course falls in love with her. She is looking for that book again to be able to reverse the spell placed upon her.

While physically an attractive female, she still retains her masculine mannerisms and fighting ability, attracting the 'Megu-chan Protection Club', a group of misfit admirers. Megumi is very overpretective of Miki and it seems that she/he has a crush over her (but it is unclear.)

Spoiler:

It is revealed that she was in fact never a boy. The genie simply altered her memory to make her think that she was previously a boy. She had wished to be a boy after Genzo saved her from falling glass.

An extremely "normal" guy who is part of the Megu-dan. He likes Megu but is too timid to really express himself.

She is Megumi's childhood friend and they have been searching for the book together ever since Megumi turned into a girl. Eventhough she helps Megumi search for the book she doesn't really want her to turn back into a guy.

Hitomonji Kobayashi

He is also in the Megu-chan Protection Club, even though he doesn't admit it and just says that it's quiet there and he's just reading his book. At first he thought of Megu-chan as low-classed but later on when she returns his doll for him and doesn't admit it, he started to like her and thought of her as high-classed.
