NINETEEN

Cathy's POV

"So Lexie will be the one guarding Shawn today, right?" I asked, stirring my coffee. 

"Yup." Jim answered.

I joined Allison, Jim and Daniel for breakfast. We made ourselves our breakfast since Lexie used to be the one cooking. Ten minutes later, Chapman walks into the kitchen followed by Rufus.

"Morning Chap!" I greet. Rufus comes to me and I gave him a piece of bread.

"Morning dad." Jim and Daniel said at the same time, making them look at each other.

"Allison, have we already had a ransom for Shawn?" He asks.

I raised an eyebrow at Chapman. Wait, isn't it too early for a ransom? Maybe he has a plan that's why it's early.

"Not yet sir." Allison said. 

"What do you guys think it should be?" Chapman sits with us.

"10 million." Dan suggests. Chapman clicks his tongue and says it's too low.

"15 million?" Allison asks. 

"Higher."

"20 million." I spoke. 

"20 million it is." Chapman said and took a bite from the sandwich he made.

3 hours later...

The 5 of us-me, Allison, Jim, Penguin and Rufus went to the tech room.

We sat in front of the cameras waiting for Lexie. 

"Where is she?" I ask, looking at the time. 

"Probably applying makeup and stuff." Allison said, petting Penguin with her right hand. 

Now that's the problem about Lexie; she can go out flirty when there's a guy she finds hot.

"There she is." Jim points at Lexie as she goes in Shawn's room.

Lexie was wearing her mask, shorts that end mid thigh and a see through gray shirt. She was holding the plate of breakfast for Shawn.

"Cough cough bitch alert." Me and Allison laughed and high five.

"Oh stop it guys." Jim said seriously.

Me and Allison stopped and stared at him. "Do you like Lexie?" Alli asks.

"No, we're good friends and fellow kidnappers." Jim waves it off. 

"The question is have you got over at the other one?" Alli asks again. There was silence as Jim turned to her then me then at the monitors.

I furrow my eyebrows at them. JIms sighs while Allison shrugs then we listened to Lexie and Shawn.

"Good morning handsome." Lexie says. Ugh, I'm cringing.

Shawn looks up and I can't say what his face is expressing. He's liked confused, disgust, in awe? That'll be probably my reaction as well.

"Uh... hello." was all Shawn managed to say. 

Lexie placed his food on the table. Shawn sat on his chair while still looking at Lexie. She sat on the other end. After Shawn ate which was really fast, he sat on the bed. Lexie followed. They talked about some stuff for the first minutes then Lexie puts her hand over Shawn's.

"She's making her move." Allison says while petting Penguin. 

"I can see that."
"I know." Me and Jim said at the same time.

Instead of asking Jim, Allison turned to me. "Are you jealous CJ?" 

"Me? No way? I have told you before I don't like him, I don't like music, I..."

Allison was staring at me with a raised eyebrow and a smirk on her face.

Shawn and Lexie talked for an hour. Then suddenly, (yes suddenly) Lexie puts her left hand on Shawn's thigh (they were sitting crossed legs). Shawn gulps.

I could feel myself tensing already. Jim was cracking his knuckles on his left hand while petting Rufus. I can sense that Allison was trying not laugh at our reactions on what is happening on Shawn's room.

Lexie then leans into Shawn then Shawn backs up. Lexie has now put both of her arms beside Shawn.

"Fuck!" I hurriedly put my mask on the run into Shawn's room. I unlocked the door then pushed it wide open.

"Lexie! That's fucking enough! That's not part of our job!" I shout at her and they both turned to me.

Lexie sits normally again as Shawn continues to stare at me. Jim came and shakes his head. "What the fuck are you doing?"

"Nothing." Lexie calmly said. I rolled my eyes at her and left. 

Jim closes the door and walks beside me. 

"Did you realize you said Lexie's name in front of Shawn?" He asked.

"No and I don't give a fuck if I did." I walked faster and went straight to my room, pissed.
