Cathy's POV

Daniel let out a sharp exhale and walked away from me. I stood leaning on the wall. I was frozen, speechless, and I can't think straight. I broke the main rule of the kidnapping company... and I broke the promise I made with Chapman. What was I thinking? What has gotten over me? What made me turn my back against the squad?

"Oh my god." Lexie approaches me. "M. Dew, are you ok?" She asks, obviously very concerned. I didn't answer so she told me to go back to my room to change. I nodded.

I closed my door behind and rested my head on it, closing my eyes. I can imagine already Chapman scolding for my very immature and irresponsible act. I could see the squad looking at me with betrayal in their eyes, the betrayal I made against them. It feels like what I did is much more worse than what Allison is doing.

Wait Allison. What she's doing is much more worse. Far more worse. The squad needs to know it. But Chapman has planned something and I don't want to break his trust at me for the nth time.

I  let out a deep sigh. I proceeded to wear a black hoodie and a mask. I tied my hair up on a ponytail. The walk back to Shawn's room felt heavier with every step I take. My feet were difficult to lift suddenly. I managed to get there before someone fetches me.

It was dark inside and everyone was in positions. The air inside was so thick. How am I still breathing? I feel like drowning with my lungs scorching for my air.

There was a spotlight who pointed at Shawn who sat on a chair. Hands not tied but I know his body is very tensed up right now. I met his eyes  and they showed no spark. I feel so sorry for him just as I was sorry for myself and the whole squad.

I stood beside Allison who was controlling the camera. She glanced at me with those sinful eyes.

"Ready?" Daniel asked. Allison showed a thumbs up. She stuck three fingers and counted down to start recording. The red light turns on.

"Good day, FBI." Chapman's voice was eerie but calm. "Like the past times, this is the message before the release. You will have to meet us five miles outside New York, thirty minutes past 2 in the afternoon. And don't forget to bring the ransom, 20 million dollars."

Chapman cues Allison to stop recording.

"M. Dew, please bring out Mendes' phone." Chapman ordered. I took out the phone from my hoodie. "Record Shawn's message and post it later on the internet." Daniel turned on the lights, making the atmosphere somewhat lighten up a bit.

I stood a couple feet away from Shawn and nodded when I started recording.

"Uhm, hey guys. The team, Mom, Dad, Aaliyah if you're ever gonna watch this. I'm fine, kinda lonely but alright. Squad K is treating me all right, except for one who knocked me out earlier." Shawn glared at me. "I hope after this... this kidnapping, things will get better and go back to normal. I promise I'll tell you what happened to me at this place.

"To my fans, hi. I'm alright, I'm fine." He chuckles. "I miss you all guys. I'll see you soon, very soon."

The recording stopped. We left the room, leaving Shawn behind. I went to the tech room since it has the strongest wifi signal and I can post the video message already. Allison sent the message to the FBI as well.

While waiting for the messages to sent completely, Allison's phone rang. She rushed outside as she slid her finger across her phone's screen to answer the call. Once she was out, I leaned on the door and eavesdropped the conversation.

Kidnap them, or at least tell them they should go with you. No buts, just do it.

After kidnapping them, proceed to Plan C.

What is Allison planning? Who are "they" and who are going to get kidnapped?

For the rest of the day, Lexie and Jim invited me to outside. I joined since I got nothing to do all day other than being regretful for what I did earlier. I think they were just making my mood light up. Jim brought Rufus along.

We saw Daniel fixing the cars we're gonna use tomorrow. Two bulletproof jeeps, both have tinted windows and coloured black. We offered to help.

"Hey Cathy, I'm sorry for being angry at you earlier. I didn't mean to hurt you." Daniel apologized.

"It's okay. It was my fault. I broke a kidnappers' rule." I said while cleaning a 340 BB. "Did Chapman mentioned anything about it?"

"No surprisingly. He did nothing about it at all which was interesting."

Ha, weird.

We placed the guns on their proper cases after cleaning them and counting the bullets we have as well as grenades.

The three of us (Jim, Lexie, me) walked around the large area of the house and played with Rufus. He was energetic much that he tackled Jim and both of them landed on a pile of dried leaves.

We went back inside when all of us were tired. We accompanied Jim to bring Rufus back to their room and checked up on Penguin. He was sleeping on the corner of his cage. Hopefully, he's feeling much better.

An hour before Lexie starts making dinner, we decided to have a short training to oil up the tricks and moves we have back then. I woke up the next morning with bruises and stiffness in different parts of my body. Ouch.
