This Isn't Happiness [Chapter 3]

It was coming close to dinner time, I decided to cook spaghetti for everyone as they always enjoyed it, I got out four bowls to fill when the pasta dish, Luke and Jai put on a movie for all of us to watch, Luke and Jai looked like they weren’t telling me something, I don’t know what it was but I could tell something was wrong, I finished up dishing the pasta and took it out into the lounge room where Luke and Jai laid, they quickly jumped up when the smell of the spaghetti filled the room.

“Where’s Gina?” I asked the boys who were stuffing their faces with the meal, at least they liked it I guess, they both gave each other sympathically and then looked to me with a sad look

“She left when, you know, Beau turned bad” Jai started, I could hear the pain in his voice, he looked at Luke to finish his sentence

“she puts money in mine and Jai’s bank account each month, and sends us letters, but if Beau knew, he’d kill us” Luke stated, I could feel them both tensing up about what they were talking about, I put my arms around each of there shoulders pulling them in close to me, “im so sorry I put you all through this” I whispered to them both.

After about another 10 minutes of sitting in silence finishing off dinner, we heard a door slam, Luke and Jai both exchange worried looks, Jai got up and started to walk towards the door of the lounge room, “Beau, dinners ready, its spaghetti” he said sweetly, “bring it to my room” he growled, Jai shot Luke and I a smile letting us know he would be okay, Jai started to walk down the hallway, I got up to go down to make sure Jai was okay when Luke grabbed my hand, “sit back down” he said sternly, I tugged at his hand but his grip only got tighter,

“I’m just going to get a drink from the kitchen” I lied, a flash of relief spread across his face causing a smile to appear, he just nodded letting me know it was okay to go, I quickly paced into the kitchen, I needed to think of a good reason to go down there, “cheese!” I said out loud, Beau loved cheese on top of his spaghetti, I grabbed the bag out of the fridge and paced down the hallway hoping Luke didn’t see me, as I got closer to Beaus door I could hear the faint conversations, “Give it to me” a deep voice growled which im guessing was Beau,

“I don’t have any” Jai said in a weak voice, I froze listening to them talk, the same things where said over again until I heard a bang, I opened up the door to reveal Beau had Jai’s head up against the wall and his hands behind his back, just like police officers do, “Beau let him go!” I screamed, running up to him and pushing him out of the way causing Jai to fall to the ground, there was a cut along the side of his cheek but nothing serious,

“who are you? Jai or Luke’s little bitch?” he snarled while standing over me, I all of sudden felt all my confidence, I just shook my head with tears threatening to spill over, but I wouldn’t let him get the best of me, Beau let out an evil laugh

“leave her alone Beau” Jai said standing in between the two of us with all the strength he had left in him, he was shaking.

“Jai just get out of here, I can deal with it” I said to him giving his shoulder a squeeze before I left the room, Beau’s fierce green eyes where still laid on me, there was an intense atmosphere around us.

“Beau, can I please talk to you?” I said motioning to his bed, he huffed and walked over to his bed and sat down, I looked him deep in the eyes but his emotions where unreadable,

“what did you want to talk about, babe?” he said, winking at me towards the end, I don’t think he knows its me, he smirked at my lost of words.

"its.. Sky” I said softly, I then felt a cold hand cup my neck, his eyes where now a piercing green, anger flashed through them, he held me up against a wall by my neck, I squirmed around to try and grasp breath but the more I did squirum the tighter his grip got, “I could crush you!” he screamed in my face pressing harder down on my throat, tears spilled over and before I knew it I could control them anymore, the dripped down my face leaving a salty taste at my lips

“let me go!” I screamed as loud as I could, I felt his grip loosen a bit, until he slowly let me drop to the floor, he went over to his bed and just watched me through his intense green eyes, something was really wrong him. “What the fuck Beau?” I said coldly before walking out, he cant just treat people like that, I joined Luke and Jai in the room they must have noticed I had been crying because they both jumped up and hugged me, “im so sorry” they both whispered in my ears, this was going to be a long and hard journey.

Jai, Luke and I spent the past hour and a half watching a movie called Ted; Luke had burnt it or something, I went back into my room, and got changed into my pajamas, I noticed that my cheeks were stained with tears, and there were red marks from where Beau had grabbed me, I just wanted him to be his old self, the Beau Brooks I knew.

I sprawled out over the bed I would now call mine, the place id rest after long days at the Brooks’ house, I just had closed my eyes and felt at peace when a door slammed shut quiet loudly and I heard a scream down the hallway, “Luke, Jai!”
