After a wonderful breakfast of cheesy omelettes (expect me because I'm a vegan), crispy vegan-style bacon and baked beans with crunchy toast, we began to pack for our trip.We were going to be leaving to New Orleans at noon. I packed a quarter of my wardrobe in which wasn't as much as Hope's because I didn't necessarily feel the need to look so fancy all the time. Hope always fussed about how little I had in my closet but Hope always dresses me in her clothes anyway so it doesn't really matter.
By eleven, we were all in the car, with Caroline driving. Hayley, Hope's mum, was out on some werewolf business in New Orleans but Hope hadn't informed her about what she was going to do.
I was squashed in between Noah and Ink, which I didn't mind except for the fact that they would be drooling all over me. I mean when they fall asleep.
"NO DROOL OKAY?" I yelled, eyeing both of them as soon as we got in.
"Got it!" Noah straightened, determined to not at at least fall asleep.
"Well I didn't have enough sleep last night so..." Ink trailed off, thinking about his night with Hope. I snapped my fingers in front of his face.
"No drool!" I smiled sarcastically and moved closer to Noah. Hope rushed down the steps and she literally jumped right into the car.
"STEP ON IT CARE!!!" she screamed, and Caroline accelerated the car. I quickly looked back at our house, unaware that nothing would be the same... if we ever came back.
Caroline had driven us to the airport in 30 minutes which usually takes 1 hour and probably more. We landed in New Orleans at nightfall and we decided to find the nearest motel, considering the fact that I didn't feel too good.
We searched for 15 minutes and came across the motel 'Beignets and Breakfast' which fortunately had two rooms.
"I'll stay with Hope, if you don't mind," I told Noah, my hand sliding down his arm to hold his hand. He stared deeply into my eyes and let out a sigh.
"Fine," he said and forced a smile. I thanked him and gave him a small kiss before leaving to go to the room.
"Night Ink... Thank you for everything again," I heard Hope saying.
"Aw Hope it's no biggie really. You're my...uh... friend after all? Or girlfriend?" Ink stuttered.
There was a long silence before Hope mumbled something and Ink stayed quiet."Aight see ya," Ink muttered, pacing towards his room and shutting the door closed. I turned the corner and ran straight into our room.
"Hope?" I whispered, looking around for her. I heard a small sniffle behind the second bed and rushed to Hope's side. I enveloped her in a hug and stroked her hair while she cried into my shoulder. When she was ready she would talk to me.
After an hour of just sitting in silence and a painful headache I had encountered, Hope lifted her head and looked at me.
"I told Ink that I didn't have any feelings for him." she mumbled.
"What? Why? Do you?" I asked, shocked.
"I don't know. He didn't let me explain. I want to focus on my family right now and I fear that these feelings... that these feelings will get in the way of something I've wanted since I was 7," she explained, rubbing her palms on her jeans.
"Hope. You need to tell him this. Don't lie to his face just to push him away," I said.
"But what if I want to push him away? What if he deserves someone better than me? Someone who isn't broken and messed up," she paused. "Someone who isn't a Mikaelson."
"What? That's total bull Hope and you know it. It's not your decision on who Ink falls in love with okay? He wants to be with you because you are great for him! You are-" My hands rushed to my mouth. I just realized what I had said and judging by Hope's eyes, she had heard it perfectly. I kicked myself internally for making the situation worse.
Hope stared at me, her mouth slightly gaping open. For a minute we just stared at each other in silence.
"He... loves me?" she whispered, her hand going to her heart. She stood up from the floor and slowly made her way out, folding her arms and breathing heavily.
I pushed myself up and immediately dialed Ink's number."INK! You have to listen to me, I-"
"It's fine I know you didn't mean to. But no, I'm not going to talk to her. She made her feelings very clear." Ink said sternly.
"Wait how did you know that I said that?" I questioned.
"Um... well...uh..." Ink stuttered. I heard Noah trying to say something and then I put two and two together. Noah was still part vampire.
"Tell Noah he's a douche for eavesdropping on a personal conversation. And also Ink if you don't go to Hope you really don't deserve her at all," I stated and ended the call. I placed the phone on the table and I went out of the room, making my way to Ink and Noah's room to give both of them a whack on the head.
Halfway there, a strange feeling formed in my gut. That awful headache returned. I felt a bit sick and I suddenly so cold - I was shivering. I tried to make my way back to our room but my legs just gave away and I collapsed to the floor. My vision was going blurry and my head pounded immensely, almost like something was trying to break out of my skull.
The last thing I heard were the smooth jazz tunes that echoed through the air.
"Mama?" a young girl stared up at her mother with big eyes.
"Yes dear?" her mother smiled bending down, her beautiful blonde hair flowing down her back like silk.
"Where are we?" the little girl asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"We're in a new land where no Spirit has ever stepped foot on, a new land." she explained slowly, brushing her fingers through the girl's striking auburn hair.
"Why do we have to stay here? Where is Papa? Where is everyone?" the girl stared at her mother with her piercing grey-white eyes.
"So many questions, yet so few can be answered." the mother mumbled. She stood up gracefully, taking her daughter's tiny hand in hers and strolling to a tiny creek.
"It may be hard to understand now dear but we cannot go back home. There are bad Spirits who think that it is wrong for Mama and Papa to be in love and have a family. Papa is just trying to look out for us... he will come for you." the mother whispered, sitting down by the creek, her toes touching the water. She beckoned the little girl to sit down.
"Remember what Papa told you before he left?"
"Don't trust any of the Spirits unless it is you, Papa or Willow. And do not put Mama in danger," the girl remembered carefully.
"Good girl. What should you do if you see a Spirit who is bad and will not like you?"
"I should run away and hide but I can say 'κύμα' (wave) instead!"
"No do not command 'κύμα' (wave)!" the mother said sternly, silently laughing to herself.
"Okay okay," the girl pouted.
"Now before Papa comes for you, I will teach you everything you need to know about being a Naiad."
"OOH! Cool!" she clapped her hands together, grinning at her mother. "But what about the other stuff?"
"Papa will have to teach you that. But for now it will just be you and me. My only daughter." she said, her eyes tearing up.
"Why are you crying Mama?" her daughter said looking worried. She grabbed her mother's hand and rubbed it soothly. The mother smiled weakly at her daughter and sighed.
"Don't you ever doubt yourself darling. You are truly extraordinary," her mother whispered placing her hand on the young girl's face.
"I love you Mama," the girl beamed.
"I love you too Dawn."So this is the second memory Dawn retrieved. What do you think it shows?
