A story told from four different view points of a school shooting that took place over the span of 54 minutes. Opportunity High school takes pride in creating the future of America: Doctors, Lawyers, Business CEOs. "Everyone has a reason to fear the boy with the gun".
The entire school is in the school auditorium, while the principle is giving the yearly speech of success and enjoying Opportunity's desire of a bright future. The speech comes to an end and everyone is beginning to return to class when...the doors won't open. "Someone starts shooting". It is up to these four characters to come together and survive this tragedy. Throughout the book flashbacks of the past play out and you get a personal incite on who the 'shooter' really is.
Personal Opinion:
This book allows you to get a personal feel of who the 'shooter' is and why he became what he did. The story will resonate deep in your soul. The characters will have you attached within the first few pages. You will be left with a new outlook on how the world and society is viewed. Coming from a small town where the treatment of new comers aren't too kind it shows just how divided and isolated we really are. I really loved this book <3
