Mr. Ross begins an experiment inspired by the Holocaust to help his students understand how it was possible for Nazis to gain control without someone stopping them. Soon the experiment gets out of hand and the entire school is involved with the experiment. It's up to a few students and Mr. Ross to help the students involved with The Wave to see the intent behind the experiment.

For the most part the premise of the book is eye catching. For the most part you read as one of the students under the influence of The Wave. It was fascinating to see how all the situations blend together. On top of everything this is based on a true event that took place in the sixties (information disclosed in book). The book is a pretty light read although I wouldn't say it touches on heavy topics it does show how easy it is for youth of today (or any youth) can be easily manipulated by teachers or any authoritative figure.
