Feels:
The author says it herself A thriller for people who don't like thrillers. I LOVE thrillers and I loved this not so hardcore thriller. It was easy to follow and really addictive. Wendy although flawed made me love her more. Not all characters that exist in fiction are perfect. I have said this before (and will continue to say this--> I love characters who I can relate to, or at the most show me a new way of thinking).
The characters were not trustworthy which kind of puts the readers in a position of Could she be apart of it? Could he? Why? And I feel like being put on alert while reading allows your senses to continuously wonder and piece things together.
I found the details of the fight scenes (struggle scenes??) kind of hard to read. Which benefited to the fact of the on edge feel. "What's happening? Who is winning? Gah. No. No. No."
My favorite aspect of this story is how the characters grew. Feel free to check out her Q&A about the story (it is super helpful in understanding the story and techniques she used while writing this nugget of gold) In her Q&A she speaks of how the characters truly tell their story on their own. I often find myself coaxing my own characters in my personal writings to say what I want them to say. Hopefully in the future I can take some of hellocheeky's advice and give my characters their spotlight.
She also mentioned there might possibly be a back-story to the story's antagonist, Gabi. I totally look forward to getting more information on the things that made her turn into the 'psycho' she is during the story. Mine was amazing thank you so much for asking me to check it out I really enjoyed it! <3 <3
