~Overview~

Elia has discovered that a famed local poet has reappeared after a 10 year absence. She decides to make it her mission to uncover his secrets, in the name of a college thesis paper. Yet there seems to be more than what bobs on the surface. Elia longs to speak with the man who wrote poems full of so much passion. Cameron Beck, the poet and his unnamed muse generate a love so intoxicating it seems to make the world ever so brighter. The muse, Aluna has a secret. She is not only married, but her husband and his crew's purpose on the island is to uncover hidden treasure from the Aztec who have long ago been claimed by the sea. A young boy from the village takes her from the yacht from which she stays to the shore of the village to meet with her secret lover. Aluna has long since lost the love she once held for her husband who has become so obsessed the treasure it will most likely be his undoing.

I relate with Elia so much. I keep myself entertained in the never ending land of fiction, yet long for something true and full of passion. My good fortune reading this book did not begin as the story unfolded before my eyes. No, it began when I made the fateful decision to read the book. As I opened the book to the opening page that held the title and author name sat a book mark exactly identical to the book cover. Raising the bookmark out of its tomb I found a sprawl of lettering that read: Kenneth Zak. Somehow I had managed to grab a signed copy! The ultimate price I paid for this book was a whole dollar! (Thank you McKay's) A true fangirl's dream.
